Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The curriculum has a lot of practical knowledge and we can apply those at home and at job we are about the enter. We understand the problems faced by farmers and solve them so uts like helping the feeder of the country. Exams are medium level but its very frequent for which we get a bit stressed so i would hope that to reduce.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

In the 4th year every student has to go for compulsory internship for a stipend of around 18000 to 20000 for 3 months. Generally companies like dhanuka and manupra mushroom give internship opportunities where students get experience and knowledge about the work culture of this field.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

Here, per semester fees is 8880, hostel fees and every other fees included, mess fee is separate and comes around 2600. So per year you have to give around 18000 excluding mess fees. This is a central government university so price is not increased. People selected do get nts scholarship from icar of 3000 per month or 36000 per yr irrespective of states where they're from. The nts here is on per semester ogpa basis, 7.0 for general and 6.5 for sc/st.

Campus Life

4

We celebrate major national festivals and one annual foundation day is celebrated in the campus. Convocation for each batch is held and we have a completely automated library with thousands of books along with computer and e library facilities. We have an ar vr hall for interactive experience and annual sports meet and yoga day are held in great pomp and show. There is one student run committee called SPARSH including literary club, cultural club, sports club and scientific club. There is also an alumni club. Most important event here is the KISAN MELA that's held every year where thousands of farmers from 8 different states come and get information and knowledge about different technologies and seeds.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostels are one of the best features of this university. Every student enrolled through icar has to stay in the hostel only and no provision for outside stay. Mess food quality is good and menu is changed every day. We are given a 3 person rooms and its very spacious and big. Two fans, three lights, one big water cooler, 6 separte cupboards and cabinets made of ply wood for each student, 3 tables with drawers, 3 chairs and one large balcony is provided in the room. The hostel fees are included in the overall semester fees. And registration is done on the day of university registration from the warden.

Admission

I applied through icar counselling and got a seat here, i accepted this at the first round and chose this for its amazing infrastructure so not a chance of other university rejections. But one problem is its fairly a new university and old universities have a larger exposure so thats the only lacunae.

Faculty

5

Faculty is great, they are always ready to help the students, basically the university was established in 2014 so it is comparatively a new one. The departments are nice and you can go meet professors aand get doubts cleared. They are very interactive and maintain a great student teacher relationship. The ratio is about 1:20. The agriculture faculty is great, more because i am studying agriculture but others are at par too. Some are bit strict about rules and marks but mostly they mean well. There are 2 semesters in a year and in one semester there is 1 midterm of 30 marks, 2 quizzes of 10 marks each and one endterm of 100 marks and practical of 100 marks for each subject. One particular semester has 10 subjects.

The placement of the college is good. In the 7th or 8th-semester companies arrives. The highest package goes up to 8 lakhs and the average lies between 5-6 lakh. However, there is 90% placement but the package is not so good. Most of the students go for higher study.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is average. They offer good placements for the students of engineering and computer science. A number of small and big companies visit the college but they search for a creative person. The students are available for placement when they enter the last year of college. I m not really sure about my placement in the college as I have a different field of work so, I have decided to search for different pieces of training and internships first.
