What Students Say?
Likes
- I've liked the teachers here the most. As they are quite serious and supporting in every way they could.
- Study environment is quite good here and students can even get into reading room too in their free time if they want to.
Course Curriculum Overview
I've choosen this course because I wanted to be prepared for the further exams . I took statistics as we use it in our daily lives even without knowing it. So learning it wholeheartedly and making a career in this field seems to be a good choice for me. The overall curriculum is good, you can borrow any book from the library you want. There's no restriction of time or subject as such. The frequency and timing of exams is also understandable . If you won't test your study then how would you know if you actually are learning or not?
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are even available at government platforms too. You just need to be in contact with the faculty and they will guide you with everything. Just be patient and be cooperative. Everything will go well.
Placement Experience
3rd year students are eligible for the placements. As I'm a fresher I don't know the companies and related scenarios well but the average package is 4.5 LPA and 40-50% students get placed every year. Even after graduating from this college , if you didn't got placed anywhere you can come here as an alumini and take part in the placements opportunities
Fees and Financial Aid
INR 30,000 is the approximate yearly fees of Bsc maths group. Every subject combination has different fees and it does increase only INR 500-1000 every year. As I've opted for the subject combination - Maths, Statistics and Physics , so my yearly fees is INR 27100. As for the computer, maths and stats combination it's INR 30,000. There we have scholarships too , which are merit based. But it is sure that each & every student gets the benefit of scholarship. As for the BA course, student do get their scholarship equivalent to the fees. So In my opinion its a quite good college if you really want to study seriously.
Campus Life
Sports fest, tech fest and some more are held in college auditorium at regular intervals. The range of books is quite good. And you could get 6-7 books at a time. Facilities and technologies are fine here..can't say very good. All the sports events are organised by our 3rd year seniors. And extra curricular activities too but with the help of faculties. There are commities for students too. For example: anti ragging commitie (although there is no raaging done at all), placement committee, culture club, sports club, etc
Admission
I only applied for this college. At first I did so because of my best friend as she studies there already and I've heard from her that this college is a good choice for those students who are serious about their studies. So I took the entrance but then I realised that it was a good decision to make & I don't regret it. Aa for the admission process, you have to apply for LUACCET or LUACMAT depending upon the course you want to choose then take the entrance exam and get a good result. After being selected you could grab a seat here. In case if you couldn't clear the exam and still you want to study here then you can go for self finance section as it provides extra seats to intrested candidates for study but as it is given without entrance exam so you'll need to pay extra fees then other students.
Faculty
All the faculties are very good here. They are every helpful. Specially, I personally like the statistics faculty, as they are very inspiring and connected to the students. I don't dislike any of the faculty cuz I don't have any reason to do so. There are 2 unit tests in one semester and 1 final semester exam. They all are of normal level if you've attended and studied sincerely in all classes. You can personally ask doubts with faculties too in the department. The overall curriculum is good..
