- Also hygine needs to improve in the college the washroom gives a bad odor every time and also the canteen is a bit unhygienic
Course Curriculum Overview
MES had the best commerce teachers and I was also interested to take up commerce in my degree so when I spoke to a few of them I got to know that they had the best commerce teachers it was very easy to make my decision to join here. And the subjects were actually very good and effective it mainly focuses on Accountancy, Human Resource and Marketing which actually connects to the organization so it prepares the students for the real world challenges. Teaching methodology were really effective that it made everybody feel the subjects are not that complicated. Exams difficulty was neutral it was not that bad or not that challenging but the timing of the exams are a problem because I'm already done with my final year and I've to wait 2 months for the results only then I can apply for jobs
Placement Experience
Students from 5th semester are eligible for placements and to be very honest highly disappointed. Because the college has promised us good companies with decent package but it was worse, both the companies and the package which was not even bare minimum. Companies that came to placements were HDB, Muthoot Finance, Quess, Geojit, Aditya Birla, Mphasis etc. and all the companies that I've mentioned were either Voice and non voice or Sales oriented where the minimum qualification for the posts were only 12th pass. The companies offered a package of only 1.5L to 2L per annum which was not really settling for us. My plans after degree were to bag a good company in the placement, get an year job experience and then pursue my MBA but due to the companies that came to placements I'm on hunt to find jobs.
Fees and Financial Aid
So basically the few structure was divided into two parts Aided (goverment affiliated section) Unaided (Non government affiliated sections). So when I joined MES I had to pay rupees forty thousand as my first year fees as I was shortlisted in aided section while my other batchmates who got into Unaided sections had to pay rupees fifty six thousand. So the fee structure varies based on the section A and B section were goverment aided section (40000) C and D were non government aided. (56000) There were other benefits like scholarships for the students where there was this one scholarship called SIP in which anybody was eligible to apply for it. And other scholarships for SC,ST, Caste wise based scholarships.
Campus Life
Although there were many flaws in the college there were few things that I enjoyed that was the activities that the college conducted. The college celebrated Independence day, Republic day, Kargil Diwas with a parade and inviting military generals as guests. They also celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava, Ganesha Chaturthi by conducting an eco friendly Ganesha rally. The classrooms had projectors and smartboard facilities only in a few classrooms. MES sports team was mediocre in the batch I was in because of the physical education teacher who lacks knowledge about many sports and they had no proper coaching. There were many clubs like Commerce forum, Consumer club, Red cross society etc. It really helps us to gain practical knowledge about how things work in real life other than what is given in textbooks. I was teh HR director of the commerce forum which gave me an experience on how things work at organisation as a HR
Admission
Process of admission was actually very smooth it was very quick. Although it had a long queue the admission process took us hardly around 10 to 15 minutes. Application forms are distributed in the college itself the dates will be announced on their college website and they'll have an extension time for doing admissions too but I suggest that the students have to enroll as soon as possible.
Faculty
MES has the best teachers faculty and I would have the same opinion about this even if I'm asked about this after 10 years. Teaching wise I had the best experience because the way they explained topics made the toughest of toughest subjects easier to us. They were very student friendly and helping us out in everything. I had the best mentors and guide in my college which has helped in my career development. They never say no to interaction infact be it any topic they will give us the solution.
