Remarks

No bad remarks. College management is also good. Overall it is worth taking admission here.

Entrance Preview

It is a well-known college in Ahmedabad and it's IT department is very famous for their academics and excellence. Fees of this college are also affordable and their degree is also of great value. I qualified in merit list so without any second thought I toom admission here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is very good and it gets updated by time to keep students up to date with the latest technologies. Students here get enough chances to participate in many national level competition to show their skills. Cultural as well as academic events take place here accordingly.

Internships Opportunities

Not in the bachelor of any courses but yes is masters they provide internships as well as permanent jobs.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements and job opportunities here in Gujarat Law Society Institute of Computer Application is not that bad as many companies come at college to offer the job to students and many candidates have been placed successfully in campus placements. Offering salary packages are not up to the mark.

College Events

4

GLS University conducts a grand youth festival once in a year and at that time all the colleges under GLS University put their whole and sole to win it. Other than that each college has it's own culture fest conducted once in a year and academic fest too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure is very much affordable and not at all expensive. Students are supposed to pay the fees by starting of every semester and amount of fees is also reasonable for students to manage and students are informed beforehand and given sufficient time to manage the fees.

Fees and Financial Aid

No, GLS Institute of Computer Application doesn't provide any scholarships or loans but students can get information about government scholarships at the administration office.

Campus Life

3.5

Campus life here is well and good. This college has a very big campus and sufficient parking area. The gender ratio is also not very high. Girls are taken extra care by faculties and security staff. The lab is also good. Sports are also well supported by the college.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

There is no hostel facility in this college but students can easily find PGs in the nearby area. The college has canteens which serve tasty and hygienic food at affordable cost. Students can eat there very easily and in Budget too. But, there is no hostel facility in college.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful and friendly. Ragging is strictly prohibited. Students can get help from seniors in any concerns.

Exam Structure

Exams are divided into 3 parts in one semester i. e. First-term, mid-term and final-term. First-term is mcq test and rest of both are written. Here total marks are divided into two parts i. e. 70% from the final exam and 30% from internals which is calculated as per the mentioned criteria.

Admission

I submitted the admission form along with necessary documents i. e. Marksheet of 10th and fortunately I got my name in the merit list and completed the further process including submission of required documents along with fees and got the admission successfully.

Faculty

4

Faculties of this college are great. They have very good knowledge of their subject and very friendly too. They are always ready to solve the doubts of students and share their knowledge. Students can ask for help from faculties when and where required without any hesitation.

Remarks:

Advantages: without these new opportunities, many students would never have realized a college degree was still possible. The advantages include: 1. Reduced Cost The competitiveness for enrolling students in online courses (or to complete degree programs), literally from across the globe, has created a marketplace that enables students to enroll in almost any course provided by dozens of institutions. This competition has driven both the cost to the institution and the price for the student downward due to almost unlimited enrollments. 2. Accessibility Similarly, the online course environment and proliferation of such opportunities enables students to enroll in courses at multiple times during the calendar year and to complete the required work for each course on their own time, that is, around work, family and other personal obligations. Students are also able to complete courses at a single location, usually their own home, a library or some other designated space. The alleviation of time and space restrictions for learning is a tremendous enhancement to this degree completion opportunity. 3. Fulfillment of Dreams Perhaps the most significant of the results associated with these opportunities for many students is the realization they are able to earn a degree, which might have seemed unattainable until now. Many of the barriers to completion are removed from their paths and a college degree is suddenly within reach. Disadvantages: capitalizing on these opportunities may come with some risk. The consumer of any commodity must always acknowledge the “buyer beware” warning label, and this is unfortunately also true with higher education. Some disadvantages (warnings) include: 1. Inflated Expectations (especially for transfer) Sometimes students may become so enthralled with their new opportunities for courses they might make assumptions about how their newly-earned credits will apply to their previous degree program or transfer to the institutions they previously attended. Academic policies at a former institution might allow for limited courses taken at other institutions, have time limits on specific courses or have substantial changes in degree requirements. Clearly, students must confer with the institution from which they intend to earn a degree before enrolling in courses. 2. Coherence of the Degree Program When students take advantage of the multiple and varied opportunities for completing courses that enable them to advance their degree, they often succumb to the simple criterion of availability — if it meets a requirement, it’s okay. This principle might be true, but the relationships of the total curriculum could easily be lost in the disconnectedness of taking courses from many different sources. This is not to say students do not learn from each course, but that the integration of course content may not be obvious when left to the individual students to infer. 3. Vulnerability Unfortunately, there are course and degree “providers” engaged in this new opportunity that are not as ethical, or even legitimate, as most are. Misleading advertising can be very compelling to the eager and unsuspecting student, especially since there has been so much positive press about these expectations and opportunities. However, diploma mills do exist, and the student is responsible to verify a provider’s status. Also, some institutions may mask their lack of specific accreditation(s) in order to attract unsuspecting students. Such accreditations can be especially relevant in professional and licensure programs, and even in traditional liberal arts and science, business, health care and other areas.
