Course Curriculum Overview

4

When I was doing my graduation the college is Anna University affiliated so they follow curriculum based on instructions given by Anna University. Later on it was converted to Autonomous college, so I am not sure about the curriculum they are following at present. Staffs used to go for the content so we used separate guide for every subject. I don't even think about the real-world applications. Staff should aware of the real-world applications to encourage students get involved. I appreciate for the Frequency and timing of exams, because they strictly follow the rules. So we don't even skip any exams and they follow proper timing which is followed in Anna university.

Placement Experience

2

Final year students are eligible for placements, but training was started from 3rd year even semester. I have attempted 5 companies such as HCL TECHNOLOGIES, Solaritis technology services Privated limited, Apptivo Software, Wipro and Cognizant. But I couldn't crack any of the above. Highest package was 10Lpa offered by Zoho and average package was 3Lpa. Even BPO companies are also visited and many start up companies and job based on contract basis are some of the other help given by our college. Around 15 of the students placed in decent package and around 30 students got placed for the sake of advertisement in very low package. I have been trying to crack government exams for 6years. But till now I couldn't make it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Tuition fee in 2014 is 65000/- as I am a first graduate I availed 20000/- as a scholarship and I paid remaining amount. This was maintained for whole course. For 3rd and 4th year I used college bus it was around 23000/- . I paid totally 68000/- for last 2 years and I have not been demanded for any extra money from college side. SC/ST Candidates availed scholarship so my friends used to fill scholarship form per year to grab that. Other than that, my college provided free sheet for Sports students. They always look for volunteers for any responsibilities they didn't force us.

Campus Life

1.5

Only two festivals we have celebrated, College day and Pongal celebration. For last two we conducted symposium and that was a celebration too. The wise number of books and journals for respective departments available in the library and It is very easy to access. No facility inside classroom only one Black Board and fans. Other than that we can get projector from department office if needed. There is separate volleyball court, tennis court, basketball court and separate gym with few equipment. We have visited few times. There was NSS and NCC club, separate music club other than that there were no social groups, clubs, portal to get impacted.

Admission

I have entered through Engineering counselling where I paid 5000/-. One of my friends joined through management quote, which is 50% higher than our college fees. We have daily test, weekly assignments and monthly test, only through these test our staffs calculate internal marks. Timing were followed based on curriculum. I don't find any difficulty for admission.

Faculty

3

Majority of our staffs are ME graduated and very few staffs were doing their Ph.D in parallel. Ratio of faculty-to-student is 1:15, but I feel completely ok for that. Few staffs were fresher I feel that they were poor in teaching. Some staffs are so experienced but they won't lead interactive class, like these kind of staffs are not satisfied with the seminars taken by student. They always maintain distance with students to show their attitude.

Placement Experience:

In my college, on campus placement opportunitiesd for core biotechnology and life science fields were quite limited, While there were placement drives conducted during the final year, the majority of companies that visited were from IT, customer support, and non-core sectors, which weren't directly relevant to the field of biotechnology.
