- The campus has a good an vibrant atmosphere, perfect for exploring one's academic interests.
- The new updated 4 year BCA course comes with add-on programs for Cybersecurity, AI, etc., which is very useful for resume.
Dislikes
- While learning is encouraged, extracurricular events apart from Arts and Sports are not exactly given that much of an importance.
- The teachers. They interfere in student's personal matters way more than they should. Moral policing is a big problem among some teachers in the BCA department.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The syllabus is not too hard, and the updated one for the 4 year course eases the students into the course a bit more comfortably. The one bad thing is the scheduling of the internal exams, they conduct the exams almost one after the other and that too, without any gaps in between, save for the weekends. This way of conducting exams without gap days is very harmful for the student's mental health.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship opportunities will be available as per the student's talent and merit, upon reaching the final year. Industrial visits are conducted by the college, and a wide array of resources is available from the college for project work.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tuition fee for UGCAP students is 36000 per academic year for the 3 year BCA course. There is an admission fee of Rs. 5000 too when joining. For female students who opt to travel by the bus provided by the institution, there is a monthly fee ranging between 2000-2500 depending on their pickup/drop location. There are no scholarships provided directly by the college, but they do offer financial assistance to students in need.
Campus Life :
Needs more improvement. The only annual program we have, the college day, is way too strictly conducted. Not even a proper fresher's party is conducted, not even commonly for all the first year students. Only an orientation program is done, if any. No politics or political parties in the campus, which is a peaceful alternative.
Admission :
Admission is done through UGCAP and the college website of ICAS, and upon the release of the UGCAP allotment list, visiting the college will provide the applicant with an application form for temporary or permanent admission to the college. From there on out, the procedure for admission is rather straightforward.
Faculty :
There's only one teacher per subject in the BCA department, but it is the perfect amount as there aren't many students in each class. The method of teaching still has a lot to be desired from, and needs a lot of further improvement. Students those who lag behind in learning might require additional improvement classes to grasp the subject well. The teaching staff are all highly qualified and experienced, skilled members. One thing that is a plus about the staff room is that it's always open for students to ask and clear their doubts, and the teachers will definitely try to help the students. Only downside is the fact that some of these teachers discuss student's personal lives too much, ie, the staff room is basically gossip town.
