Full review on Mahashi dayanand University, Rohtak

The curriculum is very wide and is according to the need of the current scenario. As I was interested in medical field so the curriculum is according to my interests. For instance, a wide range of drugs are discussed in the course and their uses, effects in body, mechanism of action and other side effects are well discussed. The curriculum is according to the real world needs. As the last 2 semesters of the course includes project work which gives exposure to the students to outside world and gain knowledge from it. I think one thing which need improvement is to emphasize more on practical experience rather than theoretical knowledge. The frequency of sessional exams is 2 times before the main final exams and it's very appropriate to ready students for final exams.

Tuition fees per year is nearly 24600rs. But it undergoes changes by 500 or 1000 Rs. only per year. Sometime these 1000 Rs. get added in the tuition fee while sometimes it get reduced from the total fees. Total tuition fees was 24600rs per year(+/- 500/1000rs). Total hostel residing charges- 12000 or 13000 per year. Mess fees has to be paid every month according to the diets taken. Scholarship: University merit scholarship, Haryana state merit scholarship. Post metric scholarship, etc. In Pharmacy department, no placement is provided.

All the big festivals which are celebrated with great enthusiasm are celebrated in University campus like Holi(March), Diwali(November), teej(August), lohri(January ), etc. some flower festivals and happiness day fest is celebrated in the campus. Yoga day is celebrated in June. All the books for various courses like pharmacy, engineering, BSc, computer science, arts background, social books are available in the Vivekanand library in campus. In the classrooms, smart boards are available for presentations . Sports club is there in the campus which gives training on several sports like cricket, swimming, badminton, wrestling, races etc. Also, sports competitions are held every year. Social groups like old clothes donation group to help needy children.

One almirah, one chair, one study table, one bed is provided in the room. Fan and light facility is provided. Menu is made for 3 months and is made by students itself. Reviewed by the warden to ensure the nutritional value of food. Quality of food is good. For hostels, we have to collect an application form from the department in which we have taken admission and then we have to fill it and submit in the hostel. Then a list will be issued on which the names of students are mentioned to whom the hostels are allotted. Then the student has to come with parents to pay fees in the hostel and book their room. No I was a hosteller.

Frequency of sessional exams is 2 times before the final exams in every 6 months. Final exams are difficult as compared to sessional. In sessional, the syllabus is distributed and in final all syllabus will come at once. I think the admission process is good although the student should be aware and should check the official websites and deadlines on regular basis.

The faculty- to- student ratio is appropriate. The teachers provided to teach different subjects to students is enough to control the class and to keep an eye over all the students. The approach used to teach the students is according to the comfort of students. It is asked by teacher to students whether they want to study in English or Hindi. They use the method of teaching which is ok for all students. Students can approach their students at any time as they are available in departments till their teaching times.
