Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is extremely modern and focuses on only the relevant Computer Science subjects. There are no unnecessary subjects of other branches. Every subject has laboratory classes where the implementation and application of the theory is taught. So, there are no gaps left in practical application. Honestly, the the curriculum is as perfect as it can be. Atleast, it is one of the best in any Engineering college. The exams are held regularly. The only problem in this section is actually with the exams because most of the time, there are no gap days between the exams, even in the End Semester. Apart from the main exams, there are also class quizzes, assignments.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship comapnies include JP MORGAN, Microsoft etc. The stipend for these companies is very high. For example, JP Morgan offer a sum of 2Lakhs for a 2-Month internship. Other companies offer standard opportunities and stipend. The companies look for skillsets that are already taught in the college till the 3rd year. So, it is not a problem if one pays attention in college.

Placement Experience

4

The placement rate was near 100 percent when I joined. The average package was around 6 Lakh PA when I joined. The internships start from 3rd year and final placements starts around the end of third year too. I will be trying on-campus placements whenever the pricess begins.

Fees and Financial Aid

My fee has remained constant till date. My course fees is 265000/year without hostel fees. Though this might have updated for new batches. The college does not provide scholarships anymore. Internships/Job Roles have not been offered yet, as of my 2nd year.

Campus Life

1

There are no fests in the college. There is no Fresher's Party, no Farewell Party. The Library is accessible to all without any fee and all books and course materials are available. But surprisingly, mobile phones are not allowed inside the Library. And there are a lot of restrictions like boys and girls can sit together only on certain floors, laptop is allowed only on certain floors, and the place where laptops are allowed, there boys and girls are not allowed to sit together. There is a yearly SOA Cup involving all types of sports. There is also a Sports complex where there's indoor badminton court, table tennis, football and there is an outdoor basketball court. But there is no Cricket Ground or Football ground.

Admission

The admission is taken from SAAT entrance exam, conducted by SOA itself. It is an online based exam (during the time I applied) The Admission details are available on the official SOA ITER website. (www.soa.ac.in) The cutoff for CSE is very low. Many people who got 50 percentile were allowed for CSE. Difficulty level for SAAT is easy-moderate.

Faculty

4.5

The Faculty-Student ratio is absolutely sufficient. There are so many faculty members that you will never have any queries unresolved, if you try. Most of the faculty teach extremely well and in a very structred manner. And they have relevant Phd's in the field that they teach, so they have a deep understanding of the subjects. They are also supportive.
