Course Curriculum Overview
Chaibasa Engineering college is currently under Jharkhand University of Technology. The JUT syllabus is up to the mark of real life applications. There are labs and practicals which provides the hand s on practice of the curriculum. Many subjects are even asked in interviews and further national level exams like GATE.
Internships Opportunities
In the second year of college we get on campus internship opportunities in our college. The are variety of domains one can do internship. These are free internships but one get paid 100/- per day as canteen money if you punch(biometric) regurally. At the end of internship one have to give a written test and a project submission.
Placement Experience
Ater 6th sem, students are eligible for campus placements. No of companies visited are very few(2-3) for CSE branch and no of offers made are also very less.The highest package is of 5 lpa and lowest id of 2 lpa. The percentage of student getting placed is very very less via college placements. one have to look after off campus opportunities.
Fees and Financial Aid
As a government and semi private college, the fees is low for free seat students. There are alse catogory wise fee structure in CEC. The lower catogory (ST, SC, OBS) pay less fees than general category students. There are various scholarship opportunities provided of state government and central government students can avail. For payment seat students the fees may vary from 60k to 90k depending on the branch they choose.
Campus Life
CEC organises the one of the biggest cultural fest(Zephyr) in jharkhand. It is a 3 day long fest. The technical fest(navkriti) happens every year. The library of CEC is quite spacious and provides good facilities. Classrroms are equiped with latest technologies like smart classes. sports and Extracurricular is encoureged. There are few clubs like cultural club, envirinment club.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms provided are quite spacious. there are 3 students in a room.Cleaniness is below average. The food quality is below average. One can register for hostels on the time of addmission. One can opt for rented room but the distance from is like 10 to 11kms. The transpotation is very bad.
Admission
One can take addmission in CEC via jee mains. After giving jee mains one have to apply for jcecb, which is the portal for taking addmission in government colleges of jharkhand. After jcecb conselling one can choose CEC and take free seat if the students ranking is good(above 75 percentile for cse branch). For those who are not eligible for free seat can apply for payment seat. There are direct admissions also. The admin staff is pretty helpful in the time of admission process. one can find application form from admin of CEC. The admission process in CEC is quite smooth.
Faculty
As a computer science and engineering student at Chiabasa Engineering College i have seen that the faculties in our department are up to the mark. There is lack of good and qualified faculty members in my college. There are very few experienced faculties. And in few subjects we don't have any faculties.
