Course Curriculum Overview

5

The 1st year engineering subjects are all basic physics, mathematics, and computer science. The subjects necessary to become a software developed are introduced with each sem. After the 4th semester there are all computer related subjects only. The curriculum includes projects, and research papers which makes the students prepared for real world success. Some good projects and papers are often selected for state-level conferences on computer science. Moreover, the internal exams happen anywhere after half semester. Followed by the external exams which in conducted within 1.5 months of mid-sems. Lab exams are only a part of external exams. There is not much burden of studies as the course is not very lengthy.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Ample amount of internships are given. After the 3d year internships start. Most of the internships are paid. The stipend starts from 10k-12k per month. If they perform well students can even grab a PPO from the company.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement opportunities are quite well in the college. Campus recruitment drive is organized every year in the auditorium. Companies like Microsoft, Infosys, TCS visit the campus to recruit students. The average package is around 6,00,000 INR per annum. The median package is around 13,00,000 INR per annum. The stats are very impressive. The seniors are seen to crack high-paying jobs in these companies. You are eligible for campus placements right after the 3rd year. The highest package offered is 45 lacs in the university. My plans after the degree is to crack a job and gain some corporate experience. I am willing to upskill every year to get a hike or promotion.

Fees and Financial Aid

The tution fees per year during my time of admission was 2,55,000 INR. For a four year course total tution fees is 10,30,000 INR. During the 1st year the college takes 10,000 INR as caution money which is refunded after graduation, if not used. The transport fees ranges from 18,000-30,000 INR. There is no hike in the tution fees between semesters. But for next batch of students the fees might get hiked by 8-12%. The qualifications exam of SAAT is conducted in 4-5 phases every year. For toppers of the exam there is scholarship provision. Admissions are also done through JEE exam. After the 3rd year internship opportunities are there. Placement drive is conducted every year in the auditorium. The average package is said to be around 6,00,000 INR per annum.

Campus Life

4.5

There is a lot of club activities frequently taking place in the campus. The SOA fest is done every year in Campus 2. It is celebrated with great pomp and splendor. Superstar singers and bollywood personalities are invited to the fest. The SOA cup is organized every year around January- February. It included a range of sports like table tennis, cricket, athletics. The campus has recently got a sports complex which has new badminton courts, table tennis slots, Foosball, basketball court, and many indoor games. There is a lot of scope for sports. NSS camps are arranged every year. People love joining the NSS. They are given training in the campus and are allowed leave during camps.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There is currently 12 boys hostels in the campus with new ones being constructed. There are 5 girls hotels. The mess food is decent quality. Nonveg and veg meals are provided three times a day. The mess fees is separate than the hostel fees. There are AC and non- AC rooms available in the hostel. Each room is shared by 3-4 people on an average. There is also options of rented house and PGs near the college. Rent starts from 3000 INR per month for each student. You can also take a 2BHK and share among your friends.

Admission

The admission is done through SAAT exam conducted by the university. The exam is done in four to five phases every year. Students securing a minimum of 70 percentile have good chances of getting the CSE branch. Below 70 percentile students generally get CSIT branch and others including civil, ECE, EE, EEE. The admission is also done through JEE mains score. Scholarships are provided if you have a good rank in SAAT. SAAT exam is easier than JEE mains for a 12th grade student. There are no clear reservation benefits as such during admission. The best part about SAAT is its free for everyone. While other universities charge for their entrance exams, it is completely free to give in SOA. The entrance exam details are available on the official website of the university. If you enroll for the exam you will receive timely notifications for next phases of exam. SAAT exam syllabus includes basic physics, maths, and chemistry from 11th and 12th class. However, the time limit can be an issue .

Faculty

4.5

Most of the faculty members are experiences lecturers who have completed PHDs. They have separate cabins for each faculty and the students are allowed to visit anytime they want. Students also have access to the phone numbers of faculties. There is no concern regarding the quality of education provided here. Most of the faculties are friendly and solve doubts asked by the students. Assignments, quizzes, projects are a part of the curriculum which enables students to stay active throughout the semester.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is now updated since it became a University, so its more relevant to industry now but still we have to do extra courses for coding. Exams happen every few months—2 internals and one end-sem. They are not very easy, you actually need to study to pass without backlogs
