Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I took this course because I have been advised by many that biotechnology has a alot of scope. But as far as I know just a degree in biotechnology is not gonna get you paid anywhere near your expectations, you will have to pursue your studies further . But the curriculum is just a general knowledge of all aspects of biotechnology just skimming through everything . I feel it's just too little knowledge about everything , It would have been rather better if it was focused on study of one area of interest. And for the teaching methods , I think It would have been promising if they made sure students understood how what they studied in theory is being applied in the practicals.

Placement Experience

3

Students become eligible for campus placements in the final semester Students do get placed but I'm not sure about the salary package , 10000 - 15000 per month is the average I think I plan to do MBA after this

Fees and Financial Aid

For me the tution fee was 28000 per semester because I was a student from outside Karnataka , for the students of Karnataka the fees is 21000 I still don't know what is the reason behind that. During the time of examination you have to get an NOC from all the departments for breakage charges, aka common breakage charges though you have not broken a single thing in the lab , the charge varies depending on the department

Campus Life

3

There is an art festival which is done maybe annually maybe even semester wise called SPECTRUM There is also an ethinic day celebration but the disappointment is that it is limited to 30 mins of events and that too it is done in lunch break After that it's just regular classes When I was studying there wasn't much importance to sports but now I think it's improving. I don't this campus supports socializing in campus because you are not allowed to stay anywhere outside the classrooms and should leave the Campus as soon as the classes are over.

Admission

The eligibility for the course would be based on the class 10th and 12th marks I applied through the site I didn't avail any reservation benefits , don't know if they provide that. Exams will be semester wise with a midterm exam in the middle of the semester of which the marks are taken for internals . The difficulty level of the exam is manageable . The only thing I didn't like about the admission process is that the fee structure was given to me by a prior staff and there was a 7000 difference in the fee per semester, but when I inquired about this to the office they were not in the mood to help at all and it was a time I couldn't afford 7000 as fast as that . And they still didn't provide me some time to pay the remaining amount which was actually pending because of the wrong information that they have given me. A helping mentality in the office staff would be much appreciated.

Faculty

3.5

Most of the teachers are really well informed and supportive . But they do seem to lack the the willingness to come down to each students level of understanding, so you are pretty much own your own if you are suffering to understand in your studies . But the most teachers are approachable and friendly so they will be willing to help if you approach them personally.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The annually program ANKUR is the biggest curriculum activity in the campus . But rather than making it the best celebration, the university authoriy make it a normal celebration after taking charge from students during admission. The exam timing is sufficient for giving exam there is no problem regarding time schedule .
