Course Curriculum Overview
I choose bsc nursing because of the inspiration I got from my father who's also a nurse. But after I entered I found it to be not as easy as it seems. We have tight schedules and have to stay late sacrificing our sleeps to complete the assignments. We can't keep up with the portions daily. I do think that these much assignments are unnecessary at times. Since we are semester students we have 1 internal exam every other month. I find it very difficult to score good grades due to this.
Internships Opportunities
We have great opportunity set in front of us as students from our college get great prestige and name because of this college.... It's one of the top colleges in Kerala. We just have to complete the course with passing marks for a promising future.
Fees and Financial Aid
We have to pay more than 6 lakhs for the completion of this course. It can go upto 11lakhs according to the seat availed to us. So NRI students have to pay that much of a huge amount to study this course. No campus employment is available here. This is not a course that is affordable to everyone. Yet some students can learn low of cost if they get admission in government colleges, which is a rare opportunity. Scholarships provide not more than 60,000 per year for the yearly selected student.
Campus Life
•We get to have lots of activities and festival almost every month of the year. We quite enjoy our time in college. •Our library has got almost every book we and other cocourses of our college need. It also has got computer facilities. •We have got a big smartboard where the teachers use videos and pdf played. They also use them a boards to write in while taking classes. •We have badminton, football, cricket, handball, shortput and many other such outdoor games. We have also got chess, carroms, snake and ladder as indoor games. •We have many clubs in our college...some of them being environmental club, arts Club, etc
Hostel Facilities
We have not that big of room. But it's not bad either. We have 3 people bedrooms and 2 people bedrooms. We were told that it will all be soon become 2 people bedrooms as another hostel is being built aside ours and other allied course's students will have to shift to there. We have 2 big cupboards with 4 doors. It's pretty spacious The menu is being created by batches which will be rotated every month. It will be assessed of the nutritional values by a nutritionist and be confirmed by them and make small changes if they want to. We have wide variety of foods. Most of them taste really good. There's days were we have bad foods too... But it's not that as if we can't eat that food or anything... It's pretty affordable when we relate to other hostels. We have to pay 36 thousand every year and extra 2200 to 3000 according to the mess bill. I stay in my college hostel which is inside my campus itself.
Admission
We have to get more than 50% to be able to apply for Bsc. Nursing . The student have to choose science as their course in 12 th std. Reservations are available for lower cast and tribal students. Application forms are available through the internet site of kuhs. It opens not very long after the 12 th results are out. We have 2 internalexams 1 model and 1 university exam every 6 months. So we have exams every other month. The course is pretty difficult and requires hardwork and determination to complete this course.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 60:1 . The teachers are super friendly and we can approach them at any time. We get to talk to them and speack our problems twice a month through mentorship. Overall we have the best teachers available.
