Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculam is very relevent, they try to cover a wide area of various laws. But when it comes to practical applications honestly it is internships that help the most. Improvements are necessary in the examination dept since the course is way too elaborate but during exam inly like 10 percent is covered. Hence we always have to skim through a wide range of topics which reduces are ability to incorporate every information and half is not even asked.
Internships Opportunities
I personally have only applied through the internship cell once for an internship for an NGO. Students usually look for internships on their own itself. But they do offer in good tier 1 firms sometimes.
Placement Experience
Placements honestly arent very good. students ususally get placements on their personal capacity and through connections. Delloite comes every year though but only like 5 perecent get placed through campus placements. My plans after getting the degree is to join a corporate firm.Internships help a great deal.
Fees and Financial Aid
Tuition fee is very high as compared to other colleges however the education isnt any motre than ordinary. The fees has a hike by 10 percent each year. The complete cost of education comes upto 26L for 5 years. This is becqause mess and hostel fees is also included since there are no day scholars it is a fully residential campus.
Campus Life
My overall experience is pretty good. We have our annual fest Syminaret every year and we have had artists like Ritviz, twin Strings, When Chai met Toast etc perform. Other than that teher are Dj nights and other programms. The technological provisions in the classrooms are good with smart boards and projectors. The library is very resourseful and we have e-libraries as well and have access to a wide range of databases like SCC, EBC reader etc. We have various sports teams and they go for externals as well. We also have dance club, music club, drama club etc
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facility is pretty good. It is a three sharing room currently with a balcony study table, washroom, bathroom and wash area. They are spacious. However in the first year you are likely to be in the small hostel which isnt very good but later on they shift you to the bigger hostels. Mess food is pretty good as compared to other hostels.
Admission
Admission process involves an exam called SLAT first. If you want to get into pune a score sbove 45 out of 60 will be required but hyd above 30 will do but this differs each year. Further there is a PI. Being well versed with current affairs and other GK related issues is necessary. If you are preparing for CLAT then clearing SLAT shouldnt be a problem. Reservations are available and in Pune there is a quota for children of Armed forces employees.
Faculty
Faculties are well qualified. Most of them have an LLM and most of them are ypung hence they can cater to the students needs better. They are open to doubts but the meterials provided are not very sufficient and we always have to make our own set of materials during exam time.
Interview Experience
Yes as mentioned before there will be SLAT exam which is similar to CLAT but comparitively easier. Subjects such as legal reasoning, GK, Logical reasoning, Current affairs are covered. There is no negative marks that is a good part. Then there will be PI which I found to be easy since questions such as Tell me something about yourself, Why law? Why Symbiosis? etc were the personal questions and some were current affair related questions and also be well versed with some landmark case laws and form your own personal opinion on them.
