Likes

It had various culturals throughout the year
Wide platform to showcase your talents and can enhance your extra curricular activities
Education is prioritised as well. The portions were covered on time and the teachers used to teach well too.

Dislikes

Event management is not practiced well which results in over population at events
There is no internship opportunities provided by the college
The teachers at some departments are so strict and not friendly at all.

At Ethiraj College for Women, we have a choice based curriculum. We are allowed to choose the subjects that we would like to study in that particular semester. And since it is an autonomous college, the syllabus is quite advanced when compared to the syllabus of the Madras University.

Some companies start to provide internship during the second year. And usually the companies start to recruit students from the 5th semester. I planned to study for the Upsc exams. The percentage of students who got the placements is around 70%

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees structure for B Com general Self Supporting - it is around seventy thousand rupees per year. Fees structure for B Com General Aided - to my knowledge it would come around 10,000 rupees altogether for 3 years. And the placements are quite good

Campus Life

I was given an opportunity to be the President of CSR club of our college. And we did things that we can to help the needy. Just like our clubs there are various other clubs that create a strong impact on the society. And there are clubs that helps the pupil to showcase the talents as well

Admission

Online application is the only option to apply for Ethiraj College for Women. After completing the 12th board exams, you have to check the website on a daily basis. Once the application portal is open, you can apply. There is a quota based on the caste of the pupil

Faculty

In my department, there are 70+ students in one class and we have 3 sections. The teacher student ratio is quite not good resulting in the lack of understanding of the concepts by some of the students.

It needs to include real time example and focus on economics and history of Accounting Exams are conducted twice in a semester (internal) and end semester exams are conducted once per semester The difficulty of the exams are really easy if we just pay attention for the lectures
