Likes
- College ambience. There are beautiful gardens, tall palm trees and a positive ambience in the building. Proper cross ventilation is present in the building.
- Basic amenities. There is water and washroom facilities on every floor and is well maintained and hygenic. Classrooms and labs are cleaned on a daily basis as well. Basketball court and volleyball court are well maintained as well.
- Fests. Many frequent fests and activities all year round. National and international trips as well takes place every year.
Dislikes
- Staff. 90% of the faculty have no idea what they are teaching. Some even confidently teach the wrong concept! During practicals, the lecturers have no idea why and what we are doing half the time! Calculations are a mess as they dont understand it.
- Lectures. Never happen. Ms.Sugandhamala mam. The legendary. 3 years and hardly 5 classes she attended and taught. Then she has the audacity to scold us for not getting good marks when she DID NOT TEACH!
- Future. Finished. I was motivated to become a scientist. Chemistry Head of Department literally gave a long speech on why you should give up on studies and marry. How to take care of husband and kids, etc. She is a PhD.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wished to study Immunotherapy and medical microbiology in my further higher education and thus chose Biotechnology, Microbiology and Chemistry. Having a mandetory dissertation helped gain overall practical experience. Though, the college lacked any and all facilities. They hide all their instruments in a room for NAAC evaluation only.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are scholarships available for underprivileged students and to be honest, the college fees is very low compared to any other flashy university. Last semester has higher fees for dissertation, but they ask us to do dissertation outside the campus. We had to pay 15k separately again.
Campus Life
Campus life is fun and awesome for those who want to get a degree and get married later. For those who want to be something in life, its too much. Library has 18+ books too (they dont know that they have those). All computers and laptops work well. Facilities are top class cuz they have to show off for getting NAAC A+ accreditation.
Admission
They just want their 30 seats per course to be filled. You must get more than 75% in 10+2. Now this college is Autonomous, and its worse as 90% of the students are failing their exams and no one cares. Admission is done offline at the campus.
Faculty
Microbiology faculty was great as long as Dr.Sreedevi mam was around. Without a leader, they lost their senses and are not interested in what dissertation we do or how we do it. Biotechnology faculty is basically botany faculty. Chemistry Department have mams that come to class and ask "do you want to study?". They wont teach anyway. And all of a sudden syllabus is done and 80% of the class failed in semester exams
