- Since First year of college there's one interesting activity known as "Early clinical exposure" where students are oriented with the clinical postings and the they're made aware about the patient care and treatment.
- The curriculum not only involves the subject but also some activities which are really worth. "Coffee with Dean" is an official activity where students interact with the respectable Dean sir and they'll about about their problems.
- The infrastructure is really appreciable where Gdch has digital learning programs, E- learning with presentation and quiz available after every chapter we learn. Patient exposure is more than enough and helps you in becoming a good doctor.
Dislikes
- Since it is a government college the availablity of resources and quality is limited.
- The Infrastructure is nice but instalation of air conditioners is a must.
- College needs more working staff and more people working in students section.
Course Curriculum Overview
The bachelors of dental surgery is not only medicine but medicine with art. This curriculum and ofcourse my college prepares me for the upcoming challenges in dentistry as well as the outside world. The teaching is really good but there should be installation of simulation labs which will help us in getting used to patient problems and taking appropriate decisions while we're actually doing patients. The frequency of exams is 3/yr i.e, 2 internals and one preliminary exam and last is the university exams. This prepares us well for the University examination and help us know how much we need to work on ourselves.
Internships Opportunities
There is internship programme at the end of the course. The intership is really important for getting acquainted with the patient care . There is another summer internship programme held by muhs which is really interesting for the students It gives opportunity to the students to work in specific departments of medicine and research.
Fees and Financial Aid
The tution fee increment is decided by the education ministry and government. The total fees are very very low or negligible as compared to other private colleges. For first year it's around 11,400/- Second year it's 4500/- There are scholarships available for students belonging to EWS/SC/ST/OBC.
Campus Life
Campus Life is really good. We've Ganesh festival celebration every year held at the hostel. The annual gathering is one of the most fun activities. The annual gathering is held in the month of October. The library is the real go and has all facilities.
Admission
The eligibility of the course is 10+2 and NEET. Neet is held every year once and fees of the application form is around 1000 There are reservation benefits for EWS/SC/ST/OBC students. Neet is not that tough honestly it does take a lot of efforts tho. Continuous reading and question solving is required
Faculty
GDCH NAGPUR provides a well encouraged Mentor-mentee program since first year of college. In this One mentor is provided to 7 students to solve their problems, academics, personal, economical ,etc. The staff here is really co-operative and helps us to guide really well. The faculty here is well qualified with some being Gold medalist themselves. The interaction of teachers with students is very liable and easy for the students to contact their teachers. The faculty encourages us to participate in research programmes.
