Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

This is by far the best Journalism college in India. There are esteemed journalists and academicians as teachers or guest lecturers. There are periodical exams to test your knowledge of the course. However, the practicality of journalism and the daily mock activities the course offers makes one feel like a journalist even while studying.

Internships Opportunities

4

The college has a placement cell that takes care of the internship and career opportunities for the students. Many leading print and media partners hire students from the college for their best skills

Fees and Financial Aid

The campus placement is very active. They make sure that not even one person is left unattended. They also train students for interviews and tests. The Print, Radio, TV, and New Media students, all have plenty of opportunities to get to where they want.

Campus Life

4.5

We had a sports class once a week. Apart from that, we have an annual fest - slant. And we also have sports day once a year which is really fun to be a part of. We also celebrate a few local festivals in college Campus life is pretty awesome. We had a lot of fun, along with the learning. The infra is pretty cool and the institute had all the latest tools and equipment required for a Mass Communication program. Air-conditioned classrooms with overhead projectors, audio, and video systems. An air-conditioned Broadcast studio with AV enabled mixers and most advanced cameras

Admission

There are assured placements after the end of the course. I am still in my second year so I wouldn't be the best person to be able to answer this question as I haven't undergone the process myself. But I have seen our senior batch given month long internships after the end of their term. After the internship is over they get hired by the same news house or company

Faculty

4.5

The way teacher guide us is no one can guide the way they teach no one can teach in difficulty level they help us to build up the confidence to say on any topic at any place without hesitation the course is good Faculty present in this college is really amasing, very student friendly, energetic and humble Their attitude towards students must be really appreciated, they try to make sure that each student in the class understoods the topic well

Placement Experience:

80% students are placed through DME with a package of 5 LPA to 7 LPA on an average which is quite decent for a fresher entering the industry. The top recruiting are for placements are Bharat Express, PR Guru, Amar Ujala, Dynamite News, T.H.E.M.E.S. Over 90% of the students were placed for internship in Amar Ujala, PR Guru, Aaj Tak, ABP News and Doordarshan. Top roles offered are journalist, content writer, anchor, film maker, and back end roles like video editor, graphic designer and many more. I personally plan to go into video editing after getting the degree.

There are not many direct placement with major media houses although students sometimes get industry exposure through sessions or visits .

Placements of our colleges and mediocre. From 6th semester students become elegible for campus placement. The highest package offered was 6LPA and the average package is 3-4 LPA. Placement depends upon the students applying for placement through college. Many students gets internships or jobs by themselves before even reaching placement cell.

Students become eligible for placement during their final year of college. DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself was nothing out of the ordinary material, it teaches you the basics of the field but the faculties were pretty good and helped us understand not just the basic but a little more so that we could actually be able to work in the environment once we get there. Also they organise workshops which was mandatory for all the students without any extra charge to learn from professional what to do and how to do it best. We also used to get projects which actually helped alot in learning with practice the theory.
