I always wanted to be a designer and INIFD helped me become one. That makes me happy!

I was looking for an undergraduate course in interior design. INIFD fit my requirements well. The college offers an exusive B.Sc course in Interior Design. The subjects to be covered in the three year course suited my interests in design. The institute provides diploma courses and it also offers degree courses under annamalai university, Chennai.

B.Sc Interior design is a 3 year course where I had to clear every year's submissions and final exams to be promoted to the next year. It is a well balanced curriculum with theory subjects and practical subjects. It also included outdoor visits and events.

The college doesn't have a compulsory internship policy. However, if a student shows interest in an internship, the colleges assists the student throughout the entire process.

The institute assists the candidate in job placements in the last year. The college has placed students in the top firms in the city. There are no campus placements or interviews but the institute helps in applying for jobs at respective firms. The rate of placement is pretty high.

Inifd boasts of a lot of internal and external events. Every year there are inter college and intra college events. We take part in 'stage and ramp design' for the annual fashion show organized by inifd. We visited Goa for the annual inifd gathering.

The fee structure is somewhere in the middle of feasible and expensive. It is expensive compared to other B.Sc courses while it is very affordable compared to an engineering college fees. The fees can be paid in bulk or in installments so it is flexible that way.

I am not aware of any scholarship or loan facility provided by the institute. It may have a structure for scholarships.

The campus is not huge. It is just one building. Though, it is situated in a very peaceful area. The co-students were interactive from day 1 and I made a lot of good friends. Extracurricular activities like outdoor visits, competitions, etc. were conducted once in a while.

The college provides hostel facilities for girls. Boys have to find their own accommodation if they are not locals. There is no mess facility provided by the college, however Pune is a city where you can easily find a neat mess in your budget almost anywhere.

I did not get a chance to interact with alumni. Senior students were always helpful though even they would seldom meet us because of different class timings.

There are 2 internal exams in a year which are conducted by the institute and 1 final exam at an external center which is conducted by Annamalai University. The students have to be at their respective centres and appear for written exams supervised by faculty from Annamalai University.

I visited the institute for initial enquiry. After getting all the details, I was given an appointment for an interview where I had to present my past certificates and accolades. The interview was not very tough and I got very positive vibes from the staff. 3 days later I got a call confirming my admission.

Every subject is taught by a different teacher. The teachers at INIFD were punctual and highly qualified for the teaching job. We got excellent guidance in all subjects. The teachers would also be available in nonlecture hours to clear any doubts we have. The management staff is too cheery and helpful.
