Excellent PGPM at IBS Pune

All the good that this college has, needs to be seen and worked out with by the good students present. College provides a lot of amenities, opportunities, and learning, it is up to us students who need to shape ourselves up to cope up with the current B school scenarios and flourish with time. The problem that could be major in coming years is - lack of space. The infrastructure is good but space is a bit short of with the respect to the intake but however being a Management school, IBS is good at managing these issues and so all in all I believe this is a good college to work with if you are looking for a decent career start in management.

I wanted a good management school in Pune only. IBS has a good reputation in terms of curriculum as well as placements. Also, the fees structure for a middle income student like me made it more suitable for me to enter ICFAI University and even before I have completed my PGPM, I am already placed.

Quality of the course is sufficiently high. International standards of books define the quality once again and the faculty, of course, makes it simple yet important in a simultaneous way to encourage students to participate in knowledge sharing. The curriculum demands class participation and so is a helpful strategy for the development of students.

Yes. The curriculum demands Internship to be done in the middle of four semesters and thus it is mandatory for all to get an internship. Mostly the college provides opportunities for students to apply and if not, students can also make their own choice if the job roles at their desired company suits the course. My batch has had 100% students with their internship completed. Also, the internship is for 14 weeks which is more than any other college does and it really helps us get a better understanding of practical knowledge with the real industry exposure.

The institute provides ample opportunities for students to get placed in their desired domain and also guides them through the placement process regularly. It has a special weekly placement assistance programne which helps to solve queries, provide information about jobs and work on the personality of students to make more and more of them employable. The last year figure for placements of eligibile students in 97% and so far with still a semester remaining, the college has already placed near about 100 students from our batch in different sectors out of which I am the one placed in a bank.

The college is abundant in terms of extra curricular activities as we hold around 8-10 clubs of different streams which focus on fun, entertainment, value addition and learning along with student activities that happen every week, more on fridays. Also the newly started CSR club focuses on activities like supporting NGO and othee social causes and it gets a good response from the studens as well. College is excellent in providing platforms for sports, arts along with academics and includes recreational equipments like gymnasium, basketball court, indoor games lobby etc.

Looking at the market scenario, currently I can say it is feasible. I was charged around 7.5 Lacs as my investment in PG education but it made sense after the quality of education that I have received feels satisfactory. Infrastructure is good with almost 5 air conditioners in every classroom and so it remains valid for the fees to be as much as I mentioned.

College has a tie-up with finacing companies like HDFC Credila but I had not availed that anyway and about scholarships the college bears expenses of students who go out to participate in national events be it sports, academics or anything. Support is complete but I am not aware of any special scholarship other than this.

Campus life is amazing at IBS Pune. I have had a good time here with a good crowd and a fair gender ratio. Nationwide spread university of ICFAI attracts students from all over the country to join the educational hub - Pune. About extra curricular activities, the college is participating in most of them around pune and also helding national level conferences, summits and events for the management society. Equipped with sufficient and working computer labs and machinery, sports machinery and encouraging attitude towards competitions, IBS is a fair mixture of learning and a good place from the management student's point of view.

The mess facility is satisfactory as there is variety along with quality and the canteen has multiple vendors offering choices of food as well as beverages and in reasobales rates. However, the college does not provide an official hostel facility which can stand as a problem for some people. But the location that the college has got is completely urban and thus, people don't usually face a problem here. Located in the area with two major townships of Pune city - Magarpatta and Amanora at Hadapsar, we hardly have faced issues in terms of accomodation.

Yes, the ICFAI group has a very strong and internationally spread network of more than 40,000+ alumni force which is quite in touch. Seniors are very helpful to guide even if they are not a part of institute anymore and super seniors or alumni are always willing to contribute be it guest lectures or interactions at the time of placements etc.

The exam structure is deliberately made a continuous process of evaluation which keeps us busy throughout the course and thus gives more opportunities to exhibit the caliber in more than one ways. We have five components of evaluation for each subject which includes tests, projects, presentations, case studies, viva etc along with the final exam C5 which is written (pen and paper mode). Different weightage is given to all 5 examinations and then it is summed up as a result in terms of CGPA.

I was preparing for MBA entrance exams and so had enrolled at various websites which provided review and analysis of different colleges out of which IBS Pune was one. Then I started getting calls from various colleges and IBS was also one of them. After research I found it to be good one and so I enrolled for IBSAT and got admitted after getting selected in the GDPI round at IBS Pune.

Faculty members that teach the curriculum have quite good credits in terms of their own education which is followed by a good size of industrial experience that they have. Many have international experience and it is reflected in their pedagogy which turns out to be an added advantage to the students.
