Course Curriculum Overview

4

I have selected this course because it's curriculum is more closer to pharmacology, ADRs, clinical exposure and clinical research field. It also includes subjects related to formulation and manufacturing. Also include project submission in 5th year.Final year will be completely internship period. It includes both theoretical and practical knowledge. It prepares us well for further academics and it prepares for real world applications to some extent but however there will be alot to learn more practically from real experiences. It would be more helpful if students has multiple hospitals exposure with a teaching guide along with them during practice or during ward rounds. Exams will be conducted once annually, which is of 3hours time and there are three mid internal exams, for internals 2hours of time will be given. 50% of the marks should be scored in each subject to get passed. It's tough to score in external exams.

Internships Opportunities

3

For Pharm-D students, internship is offered only in RVM hospital and no stipend is provided.limited work exposure and knowledge can be gained. Internship in multiple hospitals would be beneficial to students for their career.

Placement Experience

2

From final year students are eligible for campus placements. Placements for Pharm-D students are not so good. Average package as per company and profiles offered is 2.4LPA. After my graduation I am really interested to work in pharmacovigilance field.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

In 2017 my fee was Rs.90,000/- now it got increased to Rs.1,20,000/- approx. There will be separate exam fee every year. TSEPASS scholarships based on financial status and caste reservation will be provided to students. For minority, SC, ST complete fee will be reimbursed and for BC there will be Rs.68,000/- fee reimbursement which is credited to College and remaining fee should be paid by the student. Also mess fee about Rs.4000/- to Rs.6000/- will be credited to students account. I haven't taken any role in campus placement as I was interested in pharmacovigilance field which was not available in our campus placement.

Campus Life

4

VIBGYOR VIBES will be held in our college in month of the March every year and a conference named Dravyaka will be held every year. The availability of books and journals is good. Students has access to issue minimum 4 books and should be returned in 15days. Our college infrastructure is so good which includes digital classrooms, proper ventilation, well maintained laboratories, cleanly maintained gardens, roads, canteen, play grounds etc. There will be a sports week conducted every year, sport properties will be provided in sport cell in college.Interested students can also participate in college tournaments. There are separate clubs for each activity, there is a dance club, photography, shortfilms, arts and designs etc. Everything is balanced well like discipline, studies, extra curricular activities,Fests, culture etc. Students run social groups in Instagram and also there is a college portal and whatsapp groups where we can get all notifications and updates related exams, results, fests, timings

Admission

Eligibility of the course was to complete intermediate and get qualified in EAMCET exam. The cut off rank in 2017 was around 20,000. After getting EAMCET result based on our choice of course selection we have to book slot for verification and attend certificates verification. After verification we have to apply online for colleges based on our priority list , we can apply in more than 1college, based on our rank we will get placed in any one of the college we have applied. Every Information can be find on internet specifically TSEAMCET web page, we should follow-up regularly for updates(specially verification slot dates, application dates and links, college's codes). To avail reservation benefits, after joining college if we are eligible to apply for scholarship, we can apply it on TSEPASS website which can be renewable every year till course completion. For Pharm-D fee reimbursement will be 68,000. In admission process, it's better to give info clearly about joining report process.

Placement Experience:

The college doesn't offer any placements for pharm d courses. But placements are there for b pharmacy courses. Students who complete their Pharm D course tends to find their own jobs through applications. The average salary a pharm d graduate gets is around 3 lakh per annum. After completing the pharm d course, the initial plan is to move abroad. Complete further studies in abroad and write their exams which grants the pharmacy licence. The job opportunities and salaries are far better than in India, so almost every student who completed their Pharm D course in india tends to move abroad and settle there.
