Remarks

There are only good remarks about the college which provided us enough knowledge and experience paving the way for our future development and success. The college management was reasonably helpful. The inevitable leaving of the college left a lasting feel

Entrance Preview

No specific entrance examinations were there at that time other than the degree examination in which 3 second classes were scored in the main and two optional subjects. The above college was one of the most famous educational institutions of the time and the nearest to me. The above subjects were chosen being in the science stream which originally were selected with a view to get admission to the medical course. Another reason was that a wide selection of courses was not available at that time. Admission process was also simple. Just pay the fees and join. No interview at all.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

A well arranged but difficult curriculum and we had to do a lot of hard work. The literature and language classes were real treats which highly helped me improve my language skill and the teachers who guided us were real masters of the crafts they handled. In fact there was no scope of any research owing to the discontinuation of my studies. Although the college was providing the highest number of courses in the state there were a number of students in each category. Our English classes consisted over hundred students in each group combined together.

Internships Opportunities

No companies would come with opportunities of placements as it is available today.

Placement Experience

2.5

There was no such system of companies coming to the campus. Completion of the courses and securing degrees was mandatory to obtain a job opportunity. Perhaps the courses available at that time were not job-oriented. This facility increased today due to more job oriented courses available now.

College Events

3.5

Several festivals were held in the college. Cultural events were the highlights of the programmes. Other festivals included sports and games events in which most of the students used to participate. Inter college level events also marked full participation. Exhibitions were also conducted.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Reasonable fees structure helped the poor students. Scholarships were also available to the deserving. Low income group could claim fees concessions by providing documentary evidences. Even for the other higher income groups the fee structure was feasible.

Fees and Financial Aid

No such scholarships were available in the college. But certain private institutions gave to the deserving at times.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was definitely the best period in life never can be forgotten. Almost equal gender ratio existed then. Labs provided ample facilities. Competitions in sports and games were regularly conducted. Cultural societies and workshops were available as necessary. Debates werecommon and informative. There was no racial, religious, ethnic or sexual intolerance. Political rivalry existed.

Hostel Facilities

3

This was only average. Mess food was not upto the desired level. Rooms provided were on sharing basis. When seats were unavailable private accommodation has to be relied upon. Rentals were average but the cleanliness and other facilities were not upto the

Alumni/Alumna

Definitely alumni net work and senior students were inspiring and helpful. Our lecture classes were disturbing and was difficult to attend. The classes were sometimes trouble some. We had to rely on seniors to overcome this situation by borrowing their notes and books.Alumni was not very common as is today.

Exam Structure

The exams were tough but the labs provided a better relief and used to compensate whatever missed out in the theory exams. The overall experiences in the examination halls were inspiring. The labs used to provide relief to the otherwise tense feelings.

Faculty

5

The faculty were the best highly skilled and adorable. Their way of narrating the subjects and expressive outlook on the same was incomparable and highly memorable. Although many of the students did not realize the sincere efforts of the teachers to share

Course Curriculum Overview:

Biotechnology is a booming industry in the world. I had selected this course hoping to achieve a successful career here in India. Little did I know that biotechnology had not picked up its pace yet in India. The exams conducted was frequently with 1 or 2 model exams in each semester for theoretical and practical. This helped us to have enough basic knowledge when we finally pass out. It would be better if more internships and industrial visits are included in the syllabus. It would give a better idea about our future. It will also help us to boost our resume. The jobs in biotechnology offers low salary here but large varities of experience can be gained. This helps us to have a better career outside of India.

But at the same time, the college doesn't provide much actual support for the students for their after college life. This poses as a great difficulty and confusion for students completing their UG or PG from this place.
