DEBUNKING THE MYTH: IS VIT-AP WORTH IT?

There is a tremendous feature in this course which includes " desgin your own degree" . This is a feature where you can choose which course you want to pursue in each semester. This allows you to choose your core subjects keeping in the track the credit points and also choose your faculty. There will be 2 mids and 1 sem for each semester.

VIT-AP has really bad internship oppurtunities when you compare it with placements. It is better to develop your own skillset instead of depending on the college sources. I would recommend you to apply pesonally through LinkedIN for internships. College internships include companies like Oracle with stipend not more than 30,000.

Students are eligible for camous placement in their final yeat. However, internships can be done from the second year itself. Some famous companies visited include INFOSYS, TCS etc. You can expect an average package of around 8 LPA if you are a computer science student. There is a 80% placement record , but the announcements misleads us telling it is 100%.

VIT-AP charges an tution fee of 70,000 for AP-EAMCET students and 1,00,000-5,00,000 for VITEE students according to their category in counselling. Hostel fee depends on the room type you choose which includes 2 bed,4- bed and ac or non-ac. Also, there are four mess types like veg, non-veg and special. Average fees include 2,00,000 per year including 7000 for laundry.

~ There will be 2 annual fests - VTAPP and VITOPIA , which charges you around 1500 for each. ~ The library includes a vast variety of books but i personally feel it needs further development as the process of borrowing books from the library is very heavy. ~ Faculty members are mostly knowledgeful in their field but they have really bad communication skills. Hindi or regional language is usually preferred over telugu. ~ A huge ground is dedicated for sports activities and a coach is assigned for each.

There is an ac provided in every room if you choose ac room. A study table,a fan, a well-spaced cupboard and a bed along with a window are provided for each person. Daily room cleaning and 4 laundry washes per month are provided. A general outing of 6 hours is given for students on weekends.

You can get admission in this college through two different exams, which include VITEE and AP EAPCET. VITEE is an exam conducted with an application fee of 1350 rupees. EXAM DURATION: 2 hr 30 mins. There is no reservation for any caste in this exam. It is conducted once in a year with difficulty levels the same or less than JEE MAINS. You can easily get a seat in VIT-AP if you keep it as your first choice in the first counseling itself.
