Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose to pursue an MBA from NMIMS, Bangalore as it provides good future opportunities and gives good ROI. I always wanted to work in big corporations and pursuing an MBA from this college facilitates my vision. The faculty-student ratio here is around 1:15. This ratio allows for personalized attention and interaction between faculty and students. NMIMS faculty hold PhDs or equivalent qualifications from renowned universities in India and abroad. They have extensive industry experience and bring a practical perspective to the classroom. NMIMS uses a combination of traditional lectures, case studies, simulations, guest lectures and industry visits to provide a well-rounded educational experience, Courses are also designed to be interactive and encourage student participation. Here, we have a trimester systema and exams are conducted regularly for every trimester. The difficulty level is moderate to high.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for the entire MBA programme at NMIMS, Bangalore is 20 Lakhs, to be paid 10 Lakh yearly. There are certain financial assistance available for students belonging from economically weaker section of the society.

Campus Life

4.5

We have 11 clubs and 8 committees (all run by students) which are active throughout the year conducting multiple events at all times of the month. We have our flagship event called Nfluence which is conducted in the last week of January every year. The library is so vast, both digital and physical, with 4 Bloomberg terminals. The classrooms are all Harvard-style built giving a very smooth learning experience. We have a committee dedicated to sports and their flagship event is NSL (NMIMS Sports League) where several teams are formed and students compete against each other in a host of sports like table tennis, chess, basketball, volleyball, cricket, etc. There's NSL auction before the commencement of NSL where each team bid against each other to get the best players within the specified budget.

Admission

The following are the eligibility criteria for the MBA course at NMIMS, Bangalore: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks. Work experience is preferred but not mandatory. Applicants must appear for NMAT by GMAC exam. The cut-off in the NMAT entrance exam remains around 224, subject to change every year. You can find the application form and submit it online through the NMIMS University Website. Check the admission portal for current application fees and deadlines. The application usually opens in August and closes in February. The application fee is around 3000 INR.

Interview Experience

4

The first exam that I gave to get into NMIMS, Bangalore was NMAT. After I cleared the cut-off, I was called for further round that was conducted in Mumbai campus. This round included a WATSON Glazer test which was sort of a psychometric test, followed by a case analysis where we had to write a para analysing the situation given in the case, followed by the Personal interview round (all on the same day). The interview was based on the SoP that I had submitted.

Other Applied Colleges

TAPMI Manipal | Master of Business Administration [MBA]

I didn't opt for this college because I had heard that the placements stats were inflated.

Placement is pretty decent with an average of nearly 15 lakh per annum CTC, and it's an increase of 10 percent over last year. The highest package was 24 lakhs and the median of around 15 lakhs. Of course, ROI is always a question mark but brand SIBM helps in overcoming it.
