- The college norms and rules. The freedom to ldo mistake and learn from it. I learned a lot
- The hostility of people and how secure the campus.
Dislikes
- The administration block and science block has atleast a kilometer distance. It is not possible to reach by walk
- There is a bus stop outside the college campus. But no buses are stopping there unless a group of people gathered.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course because I was interested in studying IT and all the staff members in my department has doctorate. The exams are conducted as usual pattern. Two internals and a model and finally the semester exams
Internships Opportunities :
They partnered with internshala which offered a lot of internships for the students. There is also a possibility when you cant go outside for internships the college offers two members per dept to work in college as a part of their internships. But It was the covid outbreak so I do my internship online. I worked in MIS in alagappa university and developed a website for alumni.
Placement Experience :
They arrange in campus interviews at every end of the academic year in which the current and pass out students can participate. They informed us about the company and the position, if we are interested we can go there and attend it. Also they are partnered with internshala in which you can get internship both as in person or remote. One time I went to the campus interview , there was a local company they offered 10k per month for the training session after they promised a decent amount. I got selected in aptitude but when they offered me , i refused as I had no plans at that time. I planned to go to companies like tcs wipro after i completed my degree
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Here, the fees structure is cost efficient especially if you are in local. I studied in hostel and spent 14k per year as hostel fees. The course fees per annuam is 8k (IT). They also has a scheme where they select two top students and gave them work under a scheme and have a decent payout. I got selected and worked for an year. They also have a scholarship for all the BC students and if you are in hostel you get extra bucks
Campus Life :
They conducted ALUTES each year for three days. Those are one of the best days in my college life. People spent their blood and sweat for this culturals. Each student from a department participate in various competitions which held for three days and got prizes at the end of the day. They also conduct alagu aram which is inter state culturals. I was in science block where there is a library for the science students. The main library is in the administration block in which they dedicate a whole building for it. They also have E-library facility too. They also have various club but I did not participate in any.
Hostel Facilities :
There are three hostels inside science block. They are jasmine, rose and lotus. Apparantly they allocate jasmine for freshers, rose for seniors and lotus for philosophy students. In jasmine the bathrooms are common while in lotus and rose they have attached toilets. But the common toilet was never a problem. There were plenty enough for 100 students. When I was there there were 100 something students stayed in hostel. The meals are good. Science block hostel mess has better food quality over others. They have scheduled food for a week. And the payment system for meals is they divided the total cost with the total no of students and we pay our meals bill at the end of every month. When I was there back in 2019 , the mess bill for a month is around 2k. But later the time goes it increases a little. When I paid my last mess bill which was in 2021 , it was around 2.5k. the registration process is simple and the members are hostile.
Admission :
I opted for Information Technology which does not have any entrance exam, other courses like biotech, MCA,MBA etc., has certain selection process. I got selected based on my ug percentage. They sent provisional letter and called me a day before college opening
