NIT Warangal has a very beautiful and lush green campus. It has many eateries inside and outside the campus however North Indians have to compromise for good food.
Entrance Preview
I appeared in NIMCET 2016 MCA Entrance Exam to get this institute and scored AIR 149 with a score of 460 marks. I opted for this college because it is the top most institute to pursue MCA from a deemed college of National Importance and it was my dream from very class 12th to pursue my higher studies either from IIT or NIT.
Course Curriculum Overview
MCA is a 3 years course which consists of 6 semesters. In NIT WARANGAL we use to have certainly better subjects like Machine Learning, Image Processing, Cloud Computing etc. in our curriculum than other NITs. It mainly focuses on the present technologies and promotes a very good course structure to learn. However, scoring marks are little tough in NIT WARANGAL as compared to other institutes.
Internships Opportunities
Yes NIT WARANGAL do provide 2 months summer internships but it doesn't allow students for 6 month internships. General stipend is around ? 15000 per month.
Placement Experience
In MCA placement is around 80% with an average of 6 lacs per annum. The major companies that participate in placement are Microsoft (package 28.5 lacs p.a.) , Amazon(package 24.5 lacs p.a.) , Deloitte(package 6 lacs p.a.) , VMWare, JP Morgan & Chase(package13 lacs p.a.), Facset(package8 lacs p.a.) etc.
College Events
Technical Event is Technozion that is celebrated in the month of October. It is a 3 days technical event and the largest technical fest in South India. Cultural Event of NIT WARANGAL is SpringSpree that is celebrated in the month of March. It is also a 3 days event which comprises of many pro shows, celebrity night, nukkad Natak, games, stalls, eateries etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As NIT Warangal is the government institute so it is not at all expensive. Per Year Tuition fees is around 72000 and hostel and mess rent of around 14000. So the total yearly fees don't even cross 1 lacs is very feasible as compared to other privates institutions of India.
Fees and Financial Aid
For MCA course no such scholarship is provided. However Mtechs and PhDs get good stipend. But yes student can avail loan facality from the college.
Campus Life
NIT WARANGAL has a lush green campus with the capacity of around 10000 students studying in different technical fields. The gender ratio is around 3:1 for boys and girls. It also provides education to the NRIs and DASA (foreign) students from the countries like Afganistan, Nepal, Bhutan, UK, US, Korea, Thailand, Africa etc.
Hostel Facilities
For boys, NIT WARANGAL has the Asia's Largest hostel 1.8k Hostel with the capacity of 1800 students to accommodate, 1K hostel with the capacity of 1000 students and many old blocks too. College provides single seater rooms to the students. Girls have to compromise a little for hostels. For girls New Ladies Hostel having 2 seater rooms, Sarojini hall, Priya darshani hostel, 12th block. There is no provision of single seater rooms for the girls. The institute has separate boys and girls mess. For boys IFC A,B,C and for girls Priyadarshani Mess. Also, the institute run 3 government mess namely Ganga mess, Cauvery mess, and Godavari Mess.
Alumni/Alumna
NIT WARANGAL has a very strong Alumni network and many famous and successful people of India are the alumni of this institute. Every year college conduct the alumni meet for a respective alumni batch which also provide the students to easily reach their seniors.
Exam Structure
Exams comprises of 2 minors of 10 marks each, Mid Semesters of 30 marks and End semesters of 50 marks for all the subjects with lab of all the core learning subjects. Lab exams are taken twice during mid exams and end exams having 2 credits for lab while 4 credits for the subjects.
Admission
I got the admission through my NIMCET ALL INDIA RANK. Entrance Exam to get into 11 of the NIT which conduct MCA in their curriculum is NIMCET. Its forms releases in Feb or March and the exam is conducted in the month of May in respective NIT centres. The entrance exam consist of 120 questions on areas Mathematics(50 questions), Reasoning(40 questions), Computer Awareness(10 questions) and English Language (20 questions) to be solved in 120 minutes with 4 times marks for each correct question and -1 times marks for each wrong question. Marking Criteria:- For each correct answer Maths- 4*3 =12 Reasoning- 4*1.5=6 Computer Awareness- 4*2=8 English Language-4*1=4 For each wrong answer Maths= -3 Reasoning= -1.5 Computer Awareness= -2 English Language= -1
Faculty
Faculties here are very talented and aware of new and professional technologies and have very high command over their subjects and deliver proper knowledge about the subject. Also proper labs are there in departments to ensure the good technical knowledge to the students.
