Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in studying in the core engineering branch so I selected Electrical and Electronics Engineering. It was one of the most sought-after branches during that time. There were lots of faculty in our branch. Our courses were pretty same as the Electrical engineering branch so we shared some faculty too. The ratio was 1:25. The faculty were well educated. All of them had phd in electrical engineering from various top universities including IITs and NITs. Exams were pretty normal, the questions were from what was taught in the classroom. One could pass easily by studying thoroughly.
Internships Opportunities
Various free and paid interndhips are available. College provided internship facilities to drdo,HAL,NALCO,CTTC etc. Various paid internships were offerer in Tech startups too. I was paid a stipend of 11,000/month during my internship at National Aluminium Company. I learnt about operation of Captive Power Plant and various engineering involved in Aluminum manufacturing at India's largest Aluminium manufacturer.
Placement Experience
Students became eligible for placements from the 7th semester. The placements in the college were average. All big IT companies like TCS, Wipro, L&T, Infosys etc visited our college. Core companies like Adani, TVS, Mahindra, Toshiba, Ircon visited our campus. The highest package was offered by Datapatterns which was 24LPA. Only one student got placed in the company. 60% of students were placed in our batch. I joined a private steel industry after completing my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is pretty straightforward. One year fees was 1,20,000. In addition to that we had to pay a semester registration fees of 2000. The toppers of the SAAT entrance exam were given scholarships in form of reduced fees for first year. There was no fee hike during my time at college. I was placed in the Steel manufacturing industry. I was given a stipend of 20,000 during my training phase.
Campus Life
The name of the annual tech fest was Chakravyuh. It was organised every year during the month of December. The library is pretty vast. All kinds of Engineering books as well as various novels are available. The classrooms are fully furnished with A/C, good lighting and a digital education system. There were various student clubs like the Robotics club, Science clubs, Bike clubs, Hackathon clubs, Art clubs etc that were run by student bodies. The campus had basketball, cricket, badminton, football and other indoor sports facilities.
Admission
The college conducted its own entrance exam. SOA university has its own website, you can visit and apply for SAAT Entrance exam. Application fee was 500 Indian Rupees. The cut-off was pretty low, anyone scoring 50% and above was selected. Reservation is available but I didnt avail it. No, the admission process is pretty smooth and I dont want any changes in it.
