Also GATE, CSIR, UGC qualified students get a fellowship from the government or institute. Students may not have to expend any extra money other than fees for almost everything. Campus life is best. The whole campus is filled with big trees and wildlife. Well-known places are very gardened and decorated. The gender ratio is not adequate but still intermixing is common, girls are allowed to visit boys hostel and vice versa. International standard library. Various facility to learn sports, music, yoga, students cultural and scientific clubs, Institute lecture series, quizzes, debates are very common activity. Renowned personality from different parts of the world in the field of science, technology, arts, politics, social activity, sports, movies, etc regularly visit to share their experiences and communicate with students and faculties

Hostel are very well constructed and hostel facility are good. Every individual gets personal room, cleanliness is well taken care. The ambiance and surrounding of the hostel is well protected and kept peaceful for study and privacy of student. Mess food are also great, the quality of food well examined by authority and quality control companies. The menu is decided by collective consent of students and representatives and strictly maintained.

Alumni cell is well organised to keep track of all alumnies and connect or communicate with them . Also a great funding and industrial or administrative help is provided by aluminies at higher authority positions.

Exams are very high level and with novel structure. The evaluation process depends on the level of courses. A good amount of weightage is given to practicals and course projects. For graduate projects , the evaluation is very high level and the experts expects a high end output according the global standard.

Shortlisting through Institute form (March-April or October-November) based on B.Tech CGPA, GATE score. Also we have mention a writeup on why we want to join IIT Madras in particular program and brief of research work we want to pursue. Then department level written exam and interview of the specialized area, conducted by expert Professors of that area.
