What Students Say

Likes

Campus is very big and vibrant and well equipped with all the basic facilities.
Authorities are very active and take up every problem seriously
Clubs and fests play a very significant role here.

Dislikes

As campus is very big it is common to encounter wild animals wild pigs, snakes, monitor lizard etc.
Library is not big enough to accomodate large amount of people(new is under construction).
Hostel rooms for 2nd year and 3rd year are very small and conjusted.

Course Curriculum Overview

Faculty here are well qualified and have experience of more than 15 years in their teaching field. Exams are held regularly and it is easy to pass them given the person has studied enough. Here faculty to student ratio is also very good (better in comparison to other IITs).

Placement Experience

Placements are good here. In 7th semester students become eligible for campus placement. Numerous multinational companies visit here some being Google, Adobe, Amazon, Cisco, etc. Highest placement offer is made by google for abot 90 lakhs, average is 23 lakhs.More than 90 percentage of students have been placed.Placements are still going on so exact values cannot be predicted.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee of all IITs are similar so same can be said for IIT Patna. For the first semester it was 1lakh 88 thousand and from 2nd semester it would be reduced to 1lakh 33 thousand. Many scholarships are provided according to the merit of the student.

Campus Life

As with any other IIT here, there are numerous clubs and fests. One of the major fests is called "Anwesha" which is conducted in January many other fests are also organized. Classrooms are well equipped with ac and wifi. The library here contains more than 5,000 books. The campus is spread over 500 acres and has football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, etc sports facilities.

Hostel Facilities

For 1st year a room is given with 2 other people (triple occupancy in a room). Room size is well enough to accommodate 3 people. Rooms are well equipped with 2fans 3 lightbulbs 3 study tables and 2 drawers. The mess menu changes every month and the quality of food is decent.

Hostel Fee: INR 14000 per year

Admission

To gain admission here first we need to qualify Jee advanced and get the minimum cutoff to be eligible to get admission here. Admission here was done through josaa counseling and was done online mode. Improvement can be done in the portal of iit patna as it was slow and crashed regularly.

Best at Low rank and low Fee

Placement Experience:

The placement of this college is not good at all. The avrage package of this college is around 4-5 Lpa. Because this college is new so the placement is not good here. But Our college is trying their best for getting the good placement to student.

Reality of the intership

Campus placement was good as I came but it is degrading year to year, this year only 30 percent of ece students are placed, no more company of ece core came here ece and cse get same job as no of students increased in my batch 300 and ece 250 thus in 2027 placement will become worst , Upsc, gate, ssc these are end things

IIT Patna is very best in India. According to NIRF ranking 2025, IIT Patna is ranked 36th in the overall category, and 39th in the research institutes category. In the India Today rankings 2024, it was ranked 9th in the category of colleges. Admission process was very smooth, firstly you apply / registration in B.Sc (CSDA) course.
