Remarks

I remember my college for the faculty who have shaped me. All, I can say is that, the college had one of the best faculty ever and I miss my college for my teachers. I’d rate my overall experience as 7/10.

Entrance Preview

I got admission in my college after clearing an entrance exam (I don’t remember the exam name) which was conducted autonomously by our college. I got to know about this college as one of my friends had done his MBA from MITSOB which made me choose that college. Yes, I had to give an interview which was conducted on the day of the entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum was very nice as my college followed Harvard Business School's case study based learning model, which is one of the best models in the industry. There was a lot of focus on Practical Learning as we were regularly given assignments and were asked to prepare reports on real-life cases.

Internships Opportunities

No, the college didn’t provide any internship and we were supposed to find it on our own. Stipend varied amongst the students because they searched for it on their own.

Placement Experience

2

Placement scenario was very disappointing. Darashaw and India Infoline were the only major companies that visited our college. Average package was 4.5 lacs when I studied in the college. I do not remember the exact figures.

College Events

3.5

There were no fests organized way back then so college was sort of boring. At times, some educational workshops were organized. The only event we had was, Farewell party.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I clearly do not remember the exact fee but my fee was somewhere around Rs. 65000 per semester. Since, MBA is a 2 year course, so I paid Rs. 2 lakh 60 thousand for my whole course. It was not affordable that time.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the college scholarships but I don’t remember the exact details and conditions to avail one. I didn’t avail any. Yes, the college did provide help to students for getting loans.

Campus Life

4

Yes. The management encouraged students to participate in extracurriculars such as dramatics, singing and dancing competition. One could utilize these opportunities to explore every side of them. College facilitated everything for the ECA activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

My college didn’t have hostel facilities for MBA students so students from other states lived in PGs that time. I’m not sure what is the scenario these days.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the college did organize Alumni meets and I too went to college in some alumni meets. I interacted with a lot of students and gave them a real picture of the outside corporate world.

Exam Structure

I wouldnt say the college followed a chill culture. The college admin was very particular about the attendance, but the curriculum wasnt too tiring or strenuous. Overall, it was okayish.

Faculty

4.5

Most of the faculty members had an experience of more than 10 years. Some of my teachers were very friendly and some were not so my experience with teachers was mixed. They had some of the best guest faculty members too.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Students become eligible for placements after completing 2nd semester and entering in 3rd semester. Attendance is compulsory for getting the opportunity for placements. The companies like IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Property pistol, Godrej Capital are available for placements. The highest paid package is 9.75 for sales and marketing. Till now( 3rd semester) 60% to 70% students are placed. There are more opportunities for sales and marketing as compared to other fields.

Placements are good for a Tier 2 College . The Student Intake is huge so for that 12 LPA is a good average package . If we take the top 10 Percent students it rises above 15 LPA . Quality of Companies and the roles offered are good . Intership opportunities are also good.

Overall, I would say that I think this is a very unique course being offered by SP Jain and they are very strict with the submission timelines and quality of work. This is definitely is not a run off the mill part time MBA. The institute makes sure you sweat to earn your degree, respectfully!
