A Closer Look at LPU: A Student's Perspective

I choose this course as I was passionate about coding from my 10th class and technology always fascinates me. In our class, total students were 70 which was same for most of the sections. Some faculty members of my college were good while most of them were tolerable. Most of them had masters degree and some had done PhD. They were focused mostly on the curricullum designed by the university and completed syllabus within the timeline.Our college had separate marks for attendance and any student with below 75 attendance will not be able to give end term exams except for some medical condition. We had CAs (class assement exams), mid term exams and end term exams. The CAs are little bit higher level as that of mid and end terms exams. Overall exams are moderate to higher and someone who had studied the syllabus topics and followed the faculty members will easy pass the exam.

LPU offers various opportunities for students to work directly with industry on Live and Entrepreneurial projects. Industry projects give the students insights about latest trends in the corporate world and help them become competitive and ready for the real world. From the current batch, yet to graduate in the summer of 2023, the highest monthly internship stipend offered is Rs 1.6 Lac. Companies are Cognizant, Microsoft, Infosys, ABB, ISRO and more.

Placement of cse is very good with respect to other branches. Almost 70–80% of eligible students(having cgpa more than 6.67) get placed in different mnc’s. 1.package less than 4 lacs 80% of placed students get package of less than 4 lacs in companies like cognizant,tcs,techmahindra etc. 2.package in between 4–7 lacs 15% of placed students falls in this category,they get companies like bosch,yodlee,hitachi etc. 3.package of approx 15 lacs Remaining 5% students get placement in amazon(package 16 lpa) which visit lpu every year.

As In my course we have eight semesters. My fee structure for each semester is around 96k ruppes including the scholarship which i got through LPUNEST. Overall fee for the semester without the scholarship is around 120K. There is one additonal 4k which you have to give for examinations every semester. Overall the cost to study will be roughly around 10 lakh ( can vary depending on scholarship as well ). You can get scholarship as well through LPUNEST which i got around 21% which it can go upto 40% or more. Also University provides Financial Aid to : 1.Defence and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel and their dependants 2.Orphan Applicants 3.Students with Certain Disability

One thing that is best in College is Campus Life. As there are events and fests going on almost everyday. Fests like One World, One India, Youth vibe [April or May] and more are like festival in the Campus. While campus has many libraries but Central library of CSE block is biggest one, you can go get all sorts of books and you can study there till 12 at night. Classrooms are basic with ACs and Projector. College is best for somone intrested in Sports or other extra cyricullam activities and you will find lot of opportunities. LPU is known for university from where lot of World champions studied and practiced. There are a number of clubs run by students in every field. There is a separate department called DSW ( Division of Student Welfare) for this.

LPU does not provide any Hostel faculty. Hostel rooms in LPU are good depending upon what type of hostel or room you choose like apartment , hostel, AC Non AC rooms etc. Hostel mess was average but with lot of options and will time there is lot of improvement. Also hygiene is properly maintained. You can book and check details on lpu website under residential services section. Overall the experience will be good. Also some important things to know is If you are in hostel and you want to go outside campus you have to apply leave online one lpu ums website then wardan will approve it and sending the message to the parents that you left the campus. Leaves are of different types like Day leaves night leaves , timing of these leaves vary. Also Non veg is not allowed inside this campus. so you have to go outside campus to eat non-veg.

The process was through an exam called LPUNEST. Through this exam you can get scholarship based on your performance in the test. This test needs basic understanding of 11th and 12th standard and some reasoning questions. In order to apply for the test search LPUNEST online and get the furthur details. Through this test you can get to the admission of the college.
