What Students Say

Likes

Hostels are good and food is manageable.
There is strict policy against ragging and no such thing happens in general.
Teaching faculty is qualified and mostly student friendly.

Dislikes

Placement opportunities are limited and of low package.
Not all subjects are available to the students which limits the students.
Extra curricular activities are not encouraged enough.

Course Curriculum Overview

The permanent faculty are highly qualified and from good institutions at that (iits and nits). The college comes under but and strictly adheres to its syllabus. However sufficient staff for all subjects as specified by the syllabus is not available. so all the subjects are not available for the students to choose from.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 31000 per year

Placement Experience

The on-campus placements are not that good. average packages range from 3-5 lakhs per annum. A good percentage of students get placed nearly 60% . Not many high-profile companies come for placement so you have to depend on off-campus placements if you hope for better opportunities.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are moderate and affordable. However, the hostel and mess fees combined may add up to be a little too much. It comes to around 100000 per annum. all government scholarships are available to the students and there are a lot to choose from.

Campus Life

Annual tech fests are not conducted regularly and extracurricular activities are not quite encouraged. The college has clubs but the opportunities provided are limited. the classrooms are provided with digital equipment like smartboards. The Library is also well-equipped.

Hostel Facilities

The rooms are good, we'll maintain and ventilated. For girls, two share a room while for boys 2-3 share one depending on the room size . The security is good in the hostel. The mess is okay. You can also rent a room or pg in the Tata colony nearby or in Narendrapur.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

There are 5-6 courses available for the students -cse, mech, electronics, electrical, civil, automobile, chemical, and production as well. The admission is through the jee mains and the ojee exams(though a jee main rank is always preferred over the ojee rank). counseling is through ojee. OBC quota is not available.

Placement Experience:

Placement are descent enogh. After 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement drive and become eligible for internships in 2nd year itself. Highest paid CTC was 39LPA and average package is around 10 LPA.

My college experience

Placement Experience:

If you have good career throughout your 10th to btech life then you have a chance to get a job.if not then it is very very difficult to get the job.many students get rejected for their low percentages in +2.I don't have records of all branch but in mechanical branch only 32 out of 124 got placed.the companies came for campus selection are ramtech (highest taken by it i.e 11) salary-1.7lakh per annum.Infosys (4selected 2.2 lakh per annum)L&T(1selecetd 2.7 lakh per anum)Wipro(7selected 1.9lakh per annum)otheres company came are low labels I even didn't remember their names.

Parala Maharaja Engineering College BERHAMPUR is a very good college for B.Tech in the branch like civil and electrical. I opt for civil because I have a interest in civil engineering. The college has a better infrastructure and better faculty in civil that’s why I chose civil and this college has better infrastructure than other colleges like Indira Gandhi institute of technology Sarang. It is a better place than what I have explored in this four year of my study. The faculties of civil engineering are very good. I opt for civil in this college because of the infrastructure that is better than the other colleges. The admission here is very simple. You have to submit the documents that you had uploaded at the time of counseling. The additional factor is that the aspiring candidate must have passed 12th grade and have appeared in JEE Main exam or OJEE Exam. After this the next process involves applying for counseling of OJEE. Overview of PMEC

No I don't apply any other colleges my first preference is this college which I got admission. I choose this college because it's nearby my home town and the low price of fees structure.
