SSoM - Value for Money

As I told before, SSoM is a good place for youngsters of our age. College is very supportive towards the changing cultural trends of the youngsters which gave really peaceful atmosphere for us during the course of stay in the institution. our college always makes us feel 'Learning is a celebration'.

I have come through TANCET and through one of my friend's sister who is an alumnus of SONA, I have come to know about my college.

We saw the course curriculum was periodically updated to the needs of students and corporates. particularly in our batch, a new course named Business application software was introduced to make students good at using basic office software to research software like SPSS and R programming. I found that to be very useful at his point of time in my career.

Yes, our college provides internship through our 3i placement cell. I did my project and internship in MNC. I was allowed to do the internship in my chosen company and I got the project through our placement cell.

Placements are 100% sure for deserving students. But I felt throughout the process of two years at our college I found most of my friends have elevated their skills to get placed in good companies. DHRITHI was an amazing intercollege fest we conducted during our days. It is a national level fest that brings students from various places of the country and I really got a great exposure by managing events in which multicultured MBAs participated. This made me get a good network with others.

As I mentioned in the headline itself. SSoM is pure value for money. Comparatively the cost of MBA for the quality delivered is very satisfactory. since it is located in the heart of the city, facilities and transportation are all found to be minimal and better than metros. this I came to know also from my friends who have studied in metros.

College provides management scholarship for deserving students. The details were given at the beginning of the academic year. Many of my friends have got it and felt it be very supportive. I didn't opt for it.

The gender ratio was roughly percent boys and percent girls. and we had state of the art infrastructure which included lab, sports complex with swimming pool, golf court, snooker etc.We were encouraged to participate in state level and national level sports events and cultural events apart from technical and management events.

Hostel and mess are good. Only vegetarian food was allowed in the campus but we had a great access to all nonveg foods near campus since it is located in the heart of the city (near railway junction). Hostel Mess provides superb Karaikudi style vegetarian food. I felt very comfortable and hygienic with the food.

Our alumni cell is always active and we gather yearly once for the college level as well as department-level alumni meets.

Exams for my batch was Semester pattern. But I got information that at present it is trimester pattern with more specialized subjects and exposure in different fields and industries. MBA will keep you engaged in learning activities all day. It wouldn't be hectic but we will start feeling the professionalism soon in the campus.

Admission process in SSoM includes a written test, group discussion, and personal interview. I found the interview process to be very genuine in selecting the right candidate for the study. At the beginning, i felt the process to be harder but my genuine intention for management education made me go through the process successfully.

One of the outstanding features of SONA is our faculties are like easily accessible always. They consider themselves as students and handle things from our point of view. All faculties are very qualified to teach in thier field of interest. particularly research guidance during the project was awesome. even though we felt tough that time, I feel at present that was the main aspect taught us what a professional career would be and should be. thanks to my teachers.
