Great as expected

Goa institute of Management is one of the top MBA college of the country which has great faculty, placements, infrastructure, opportunities to explore and get ready to enter the corporate life. the only concern is the ROI because the fees is high but it is not relevant when we compare it with the quality and future life of the students.

I gave CAT (Common Admission Test) . Then after being shortlisted, I was called for second round which consisted of group discussion and personal interview. I wanted to do MBA/ PGDM from one of the top colleges of the country and GIM is one of them. I had deep interest in corporate life as I belong to business family. So, I thought that this was the best course for me which will enhance my business skills.

This course is really good as this revolves around the overall development of a person.There is a great amount of practical corporate exposure to the students through talks by eminent business personalities.There are various specializations offered in the second year like finance, marketing , Human Resource Management, operations. In the first year ,the students are given the overall basic understanding of all the fields. In the second year, various electives like digital marketing , derivatives , etc are offered based on minimum criteria of first year qualifications.

The college provides internships. The internships are offered by big companies of the country and the world including Philips, Reliance, JP Morgan, etc. The average stipend is not disclosed by the management.

Placements occur in the months of November/December both for the summer internship and final placements, Major companies that come are Reliance, Philips, Mckensy, JP Morgan, Tata Capital, EY, GEP, etc. The average package is around 9.8 lacs. 100% of the students got placed last year

There are various clubs of sports, Human Resource, finance and marketing. They conduct various events at national and college level.

The total fees for academics and hostel is is INR 18,63,450. Apart from this, there is cafeteria fees of INR 15,000 per term. The fees is not that affordable bit there are special loan schemes for students by SBI and BOI who gets an offer letter from GIM.

The college provides scholarship on the basis of the minimum family income. I did not availed that. The banks like SBI and BOI offer various scholar loan schemes for the students of GIM

There are a lot of extra curricular activities by various clubs which helps us exploring our inner talent.

Yes, as this is a residential program so it is compulsory to stay in the hostel. There are sharing rooms, single AC/ Non AC rooms. There is no PG but there is special guest house for parents. Food quality is good as food contract is given to KANAKA which serves in the major MNC's of the country also.

Yes, there is a platform and some events are organized which help students interact with the alumni

No, exams are not at all tiring because they are taken in 3-4 days and I found this very interesting . Coming to classes and labs, they are little bit tiring as the curriculum of PGDM is not a simple one but one gets a lot of time to chill also and this is proper MBA life.

The faculty is highly qualified and some are the ex- faculty of IIM- Ahmedabad, IIM- Shillong, and other foreign universities. They are highly interactive and engage the whole class while teaching which keeps the students engrossed. This method of teaching really helps the students to participate and prepare them as future managers who will work in teams.
