A good college for those who only want to get a degree. But not recommended to those who want a campus life, who want to learn, go for research or want to explore other activities with studies.
Entrance Preview
Earlier admission was given on the basis PET score but now a days admission are given on Jee(mains) score(rank). They dont take any interview during admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was in IT branch, courses have fixed syllabus in most subjects. In the 3-4 year they say they let you choose 2 subjects out of 5 subjects(3 compulsory subject and 2 elective subjects) but dept. never let you elect subjects they elect by them self and just impose it on students. No one talks about any research or learning .
Internships Opportunities
College dosent provide any internship, students have to find it by them-self, even they dont get any stipend they have to pay for these internship/training most student go to BSNL. Or some coaching centre
Placement Experience
Placement here is above average as if a student has maintained 6.5 Sgpa overall and can speak some English then there is 70% chances that student will get placed. Most consultancy company (TCS, Wipro, CTC) come here as first day company . Uit has 60-70% placement record.
College Events
Earlier there use to be no Technical, Cultural and Managerial Fests, workshops, sports event or any thing else but for the last 2 years cultural events are been conducted.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is the only plus point of UIT-Rgpv as its very affordable almost 1/3 rd of private colleges Fee during my time was 32000 RS(including bus fees) for general and 18000 or no for reserved category students
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes scholarships are available for meritorious students also for OBC, SC/ST category students get scholarship of minimum 50%.
Campus Life
College dosent organise any thing for Extracurricular activity. Student have to rely on big college events like NIT's, IIT's, IIM's for showcasing there talent. college students can form unofficial groups or clubs and conduct small events among themself.
Hostel Facilities
Till 2017 no hostel facility was available for BE students, But for M.Tec students and reserved category girls it was available.
Alumni/Alumna
No interaction with Pass out students. College dosent provide any platform for student-alumni interaction. Alumni dosent contribute in college development . No batch meetup are organised by college or students after passing out.
Exam Structure
Most of the time it was chill but 1 month before exam time they used to be strict for attendance.
Faculty
In my dept. IT faculties were qualified (Dr. and all) but i think only on paper not in knowledge. There were 10-12 faculty in IT dept out of them 5 of them were permanent other were on contract basis. The teaching style of every teacher was bad they use to treat us like K.g students. Reading text form book they use to call teaching. Few teachers (specially permanent one ) dont even bother to come to class they use to come 1-2 time in a week. Some ad-hoc teacher use to show efforts to impress the HOD so that they dont get fired or to get permanent.
