Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

St.Mira's is one of the good colleges for commerce in Pune. The reason I took admitted here is the quality of education which is driven by the best faculty with years of experience & expertise in the subject. Most of the syllabus is taught by them on time. There are around 100-110 students in every class. Most of the teachers are highly educated holding Ph.D. & Masters degree. One more best thing that I like about the college is that teachers can guide you whenever you ask them if it may be related to your career, choosing the right course after graduation or even if something bothers you & you want to share it with someone you can. The mentoring session is one of them. The terminal exams are held in Nov & April/May. There are a total of six semesters in this three-year course. The level of the paper is mostly easy- average. If a student studies well & clears all the concepts then she'll easily pass with flying colours.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship opportunities provided in the college are good. Some of the companies provide Internships for 2/3/6 months & if you possess all the skills that the organization requires then you can get a full-time opportunity there.

Placement Experience

4

St.Miras is good for college placements too. You are eligible for campus placements If you have no backlogs in the semesters. Apart from this to crack the interview you just need to have confidence, basic knowledge about your field, finance-related concepts & go through your resume thoroughly. Here I'm listing the companies that visited our college this year and some of them were invited were KPMG, Northern Trust, TCS, HR Remedy India Pvt.Ltd, Vartemis, Clean Harbours, eigopathshaala, TSL Consulting Pvt.Ltd, LYS Corporate Advisory LLP, Justo Realfintech Pvt Ltd, Niva Bupa Health Insurance Pvt Ltd, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, Primal Capital & Housing Finance, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The total course fee structure is usually 30,000-40,000. You can avail of scholarships depending upon the reservation category. Through campus placement, I got placed in Northern Trust as an Analyst with 4,00,000 p.a. & the internships that I got in the field of HR & Marketing - a stipend of 10,000- 15,000.

Campus Life

3.5

Life at the campus is quite decent. Usually, they have annuals every year & many events are conducted for eg. Marathi Diwas, Grand Gala Mira Bazaar which is conducted to create enthusiasm in the young girls for entrepreneurship and management. Technologica - tech fest which is organized by the Science department which is an Inter college fest. Various books & journals are available in the library & you can avail of various benefits like the e- book then having a subscription to the library (which is free of cost) & can issue a book & within 7 days you will have to return it. Various extra curricular activities are held on the campus which include sports, dance, patriotic singing competitions, Zumba, mental health awareness & counseling sessions.

Admission

You need to fill out the merit list form in order to get admission to Bcom. You need to have all the original documents with two Xerox copies -10th mark sheet, 12th Marksheet, Aadhar card, Leaving certificate, Migration certificate( if applicable), and Caste certificate ( if applicable). If your name appears in the merit list you will have to fill out the form on st.miras Vriddhi website & take a print of that form and attach all the documents. Later, you can visit the college with that printed document & verify your documents in the office. Afterward, you can pay the fees which can range between 10,000-12,000 for the First year for the open category. The admission process is quite smooth & they will answer your query regarding admission.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Mulund College of Commerce are fairly good especially after the college received autonomous status. Some of the well known companies like Deloitte, KPMG etc visited. The average package is around approx. 3,00,000 per annum. In my case I'm currently pursuing CA along with my B.com degree so my focus is more on completing my CA course and gaining practical training rather than the immediate placement. The college provides a good support for students like me through flexible schedules, guidance and internship exposure. Overall, MCC prepares students well for both employment and professional qualifications helping us build a strong foundation for future career growth.

I am the part of NSS unit .. there I am genuinely learning and enjoying.. But I have figured out that for leo and Rotract they won't give credits to fy degree college students so I feel they should include first-year UGs as well. They are not giving opportunities to junior college students so I feel they junior college students should also have access to be part of different clubs and curriculums

Course Curriculum Overview:

B.com is base of all the course in commerce. And we also can do any other jobs to increase our experience in practical world because in other courses we are not able to get practical experience which is very important. The curriculum is too good as everything is about real world. There is no need to study something which is irrelevant. Everything is good but, I want that as our college opens early at 7am so library should also be open at the same time. Because many times when lectures are cancelled we just waste our time as library opens at 9am.

Remarks:

I was a student of KJ Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce. College is autonomus now and the exams paper are set by college & not university. Faculty is good. Campus is excellent. Once you leave the college, you will miss everything from lectures, 4 ways, maggi house, management canteen, IV etc. Management students do have placements in good companies. (BMS, BBI, BFM, BAF) So, in short it is a good college with decent students & faculty.
