Worth it, Best College to persue MPT Sports Physiotherapy

I chose, MPT Sports Physiotherapy at SRM College of Physiotherapy, SRMIST. the faculties here are of assistant professor to professor levels having PhDs, which makes the teaching-learning experience quite interesting, research evidenced-based, and knowledgeable. The total number of students at SRM College of Physiotherapy is 600+ and the total number of faculties is 40+. All teaching methods are smart only and are based on the all-around development of theoretical and practical skills of the students. Here term exams are semester-wise patterns according to the 2019 regulations of the syllabus. Passing and scoring good marks is easy if you are quite attentive in class and regular to college.

Internships are not stipend based but the experience is very good. The internship programs for BPT are in different parts of Tamil Nadu, like NIEPMED, etc. For MPT sports physiotherapy we have internships and onfield postings for various events of sports like from Tamil Nadu Basketball Association, SRMIST, Chengalpattu district athletics association, Tamil Nadu Paralympic Association & Sports Authority of India Events also.

According to sources and placements we have faced, placement in SRM College of Physiotherapy for MPT here is quite less. We have some NGOs, Private firms, and organizations who hire from around the corner of the world like the USA, Oman, & India. The frequency of recruitments is very very less yet qualitative. The average salary offered for BPT is 2.5 LPA and for MPT is 3.5 LPA for India. Salaries for other countries are not yet revealed.

The college offers 9 electives for choice in MPT. For MPT sports Physiotherapy the per year tuition fee is 1.5 LPY and 3 L per the whole course. Apart from it, other expenses and fees are also there including sports fees, fest fees, seminar & webinar fees & examination fees. The examination fees are always on the higher side at 9k+ per semester. I got no scholarships.

The overall infrastructure of SRM College of Physiotherapy is quite good. The Classrooms are allotted to each electives of MPT, but for sports physiotherapy the classrooom is a big attraction. We have here all in best class sports physiotherapy lab consisiting of high end sports rehabilitation equipments and advance exercise kits. The College is clean and hygienic. Sometimes i feel there is a lack of examination hall for own for this college. A College is fully packed with high speed Wifi.Campus is huge and overwhelming. The college classrooms, parks, cafeterias, bus accomodations, hostels, and playgrounds are key highlights to mention. All are best in class. College of physiotherapy has practicals at SRM hospital and classrooms at SRM Academic building. The one negative point about SRM college of physiotherapy is that it is situated at 4th & 5 th floor. As we have sports physio lab at 5th floor, aproaching to this place is highly difficult for the players.

The admission process starts in April end of every year and stretches till September. The admission brochure and forms will be available only on SRMIST official website. Once filling out the admission form worth 1200/-, the admission procedure starts. Upload all the necessary documents in the portal of admission and wait for an entrance exam. The entrance exam is a must. After that, if you clear the entrance exam, the admission cell will intimate you via mail for a personal interview. In an interview, they will assess further and course selection choice will be mentioned. The admission process is hassle-free and smooth. The only transition to be made is to regularise the queries and doubts of the students quickly and through an always-available contact number.

To get enrolled in the MPT program, I faced an Entrance exam followed by a personal interview. The entrance exam consists of 25-50 questions about questions from different topics and backgrounds of BPT levels. The final year of the BPT syllabus is more than sufficient to prepare for the exam. In personal interviews, they asked viva and questions regarding why to choose SRM and which elective they want to pursue and why.
