What Students Say
Likes
- Countless companies to choose from in placements.
- Amazing college fests happening around the year
- Very nice campus with huge gardens, a massive library as well as playgrounds
Dislikes
- Attendance were strictly followed, even if the students have very good justification they still won't be able to give exams if there attendance is below 65
- Sometimes the water used for irrigation purpose in the gardens was sewage water, which had a very bad smell
- The teacher won't even increase your marks by even one mark even if you're failing the exams by half a mark and have to give makeup exam.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BCA because the duration of the course was shorter as compared to Btech CS which is a similar course with almost the same curriculum, although I would recommend you to go for Btech CS because I anyway had to do MCA as well for eligibility purposes. The curriculum was very commendable, I had no knowledge of computer languages and their subjects, and whatever I know today was taught in the college. The faculty was partially very good and some of them could improve a little. But as I've heard the faculty in the Btech department is even better. Every semester contained two mid-semester exams as well one final semester exam in the end. The difficulty level, I would say was above average as many students had to go through makeup exams. For me, it was not much difficult to clear the exams but the teachers were very strict when it came to giving marks.
Placement Experience
Placements were really impressive as a countless companies joined the placement even for courses such as BCA and BSc. Students can take part in the placements starting from the last semester of their course. Various reputed companies joined the placement such as Accenture, TCS, cognizant, Infosys, impetus and the list goes on. Also, many start-ups showed up with really high packages like 15-20 LPA. All these companies recruited many students. Most of the students even held offer letters from more than one company.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees were a little above the average fees of colleges in Indore, but it was all worth it because I compared the curriculum as well as teaching in various institutions with all my friends from different colleges and found Medicaps to be very efficient when it came to studies as well as practical exposure. I didn't have much help with internships they did provide a list of companies but they did not hold much value, and most of them didn't provide stipends. But the campus placement is way more than just good, as far as I know, more than 80% of my classmates were placed in reputed companies with good packages. The number of companies coming to the college placements was quite overwhelming as well.
Campus Life
The campus in my sense was the best part of this college, there were numerous college fests happening around the year including moonstone in march as well as dandiya nights in October. A lot of workshops and hackathons kept happening simultaneously with the course. There was a huge library with countless academic books along with the literature, which you can issue for a week and then even reissue if you haven't completed it. Sports were also there but were not appreciated as much as the studies and fests are concerned. Various social groups were there such as NSS and hackathons with political groups as well. Which were entirely run by students.
Admission
I applied for BCA, where I was selected on the basis of my academic records in my higher education. If you're applying for Btech JEE is mandatory and the cut-off should be around 75. The application process was quite hassle-free, I went to the admission cell of the university with all the required documents. Paid the first installment and my admission was secured. You can also opt for the online process if you want.
