Remarks
Overall the college is good. You may find some bad reviews about it but i guess every college has something negative in it, which students may not like.
Entrance Preview
Currently, I am pursuing BBA from UBS which is a 3-year course however, the college also offers a 4-year course of BBA+MBA. The college is affiliated with the Cardiff Metropolitan University, therefore, the degree you get is from CMU and it is nowhere mentioned on that degree that you have pursued it from India.
Course Curriculum Overview
In BBA the first year does not have any specialization. It teaches you the basics of Business management. In the second year, you have an opportunity to choose in which field you want to specialize in whether it is Marketing or Finance. And the same it is in the third year but with more options. Most of the students are usually confused in what to opt therefore here we are free to ask your mentor to help you with electives and you get a time of 2-3 weeks at the beginning of the year to choose.
Internships Opportunities
There is a placement cell in the college, which invites major companies to the college for placements of students as well as for internships. The college mainly focuses on the placement and internships. The second year students must do a compulsory internship at the end of the school year for approx. two months. Whereas the first year aren't required but they are allowed to sit for the interviews. The third year students usually sit for the placements. The college makes sure that everyone gets an internship or placement at a big reputed firm
Placement Experience
Many companies visit the college throughout the year to hire students. MBA students and third year BBA students sit for the placements. Whoever wants a placement will definitely get it and the college makes sure of this. the packages usually offered by the companies are not that good according to some of my friends from MBA. They are usually not satisfied.
College Events
There is one big event celebrated in UBS called "Midnight Sunrise", where they target all the colleges in Mumbai and Pune. However other college events like "Rush4Rush" (3-day event) where they target only nearby colleges. Here students usually celebrate events such as Ganpati's or Janmashtami. These events are executed by students
Fee Structure And Facilities
I believe the college has a reasonable fee. The tuition fee is only 3.5 lacs. The rest you pay is for living and food. If you compare to other colleges in Mumbai it is worth it. The best thing is that you are getting an international degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers no scholarships or does not have any loan facilities, which is one of a big disadvantage of the college
Campus Life
It is obvious in an hostel that girls are not alllowed to enter boys apartment and boys are not allowed to enter girls apartment There is no diversity here. People come from all over the India meet and it is quite fun. We learn about different cultures in India and attend their holy functions
Hostel Facilities
The rooms were initially designed for only 1 person. Before joining I was told I will have my separate room. When I came here I saw that it is a dual sharing room, which made the room small. You can also pay 50 thousand to get your own single sharing room.
Alumni/Alumna
functions Seniors here are really good and very helpful to us. We sign an anti-ragging certificate before entering the college.
Exam Structure
the exam structure is quite chilled out. There are some quizzes taken at the beginning of the year every Monday. 2 important exams a year Mid term & End term. The exam paper is approved by Cardiff Met University and also checked by them. --
Admission
Getting into BBA was quite easy for me. All you have to do is fill a form online and they will contact you. They take an interview over Skype and see whether you are eligible or not. Not only do they look on your marks you scored in 12th but also how active you are in other activities such as sports.
Faculty
Each faculty here has its own reputation. They have an experience in the corporate world and most of them are P.h.d holders. During classes what they only focus is on practical thinking. Therefore instead of teaching much of theory, they give us case studies or play games, which would enhance our practical thinking and improve our GK, at the end of class.
