Remarks
As I'm an ST student I had benefits in the CET exam or Common Entrance Exam which I cleared with a good ranking. Anyone can write the CET exam. The application is provided online at https://cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea/ The application fees vary from person to person for reserved students the fee was 500. The applications start in March of every year. All the reserved students have to pay significantly fewer application fees than other students. The process can be improved and can be online which would be helpful, the government website is a bit slow and outdated which should be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was very fond of the computer and its working so I opted for CSE. The faculty ratio was less. There was only one teacher for a particular subject so on an average 1:60 All the faculty were graduated, and some were having master's degrees and the faculty with higher posts like HOD or Dean were doctorate. The teaching method was old-fashioned and should be improved. The exam was a well time never delayed. The level of difficulty was medium.
Internships Opportunities
There were internships that we had, but it was a virtual internship with no stipend and it was like a course that we had to learn and execute. It was more like a certification course than an internship. There were no projects just to learn and give the exam.
Placement Experience
From the 4th year or 7th semester, you will be available to attend placements. There were many companies that were attended on campus some were DXC, app associates, Harman, TCS, Capgemini, and many more. I got 3 offers. The highest package was 6 LPA and the average was around 4lpa. As I know all the students who attended the placement were selected. My plan is to work hard.
Fees and Financial Aid
At the start of the year, they tell you only this much you have to pay but they don't take into consideration all the other costs. The fees have to be paid if you have to even be the college. Being an autonomous college they only care about money. They are plenty of scholarships available but you cannot choose all, and even if you choose which could potentially pay the whole college fee they intentionally reject your applications due to unknown reasons. As a reserved student, my scholarship was supposed to come from the government, which it did but they took an additional 30k per year which is not included in the scholarship it seems. If you are a non-reserved student you have to take a loan hoping that that should cover everything but not they intentionally don't add all the expenses and the student has to pay from his pocket which isn't covered in the loan. There is no job guarantee but you get companies in the college. Also, they take an extra 21k at the end as a Placement fee.
Campus Life
They were fests, programs, and events no, and then always happening. In the start, we get orientation programs for 3 days and in the second year, you get freshers' day and many more. All the books in the library are free to use and available. But for your exam booklet and practical books, an extra amount should be paid. Only blackboard and chairs and desk is available in CS department. Only one room is equipped with projection. All the sports are played and everything is available in the sports department. There are many groups, and clubs on campus like a coding club, dance club, singing, guitar, and many more. Some of the websites which are used by the colleges were made by students.
