MIET College Review

In the year 2020, I gave an entrance test(UPTU) for admission to UP's technical colleges. Now the admission process has been replaced by IIT MAINS. To take admission to this college (CSE branch) a person has a score of 85 percentile or above to be eligible for the CSE branch.

This course is very vast and deals with almost all the subjects we need to know about this course. I chose CSE because of its vast scope in the job sector. Also, IT professionals are paid well. The faculty at this college is knowledgeable well some of them are IITians. The teaching method is like modern where they teach you through presentations about a topic. Exams are held on a regular pattern (once a month) like 2 sessional and 1 PUT. The difficulty level of the exams was a moderate type.

The College provides internship on 4th year only. Most internships are stipend based but some are for free. The College also allows to work on project as well to give the students a hands-on experience. Companies such as TCS, Infosys provide scholarship to the meritorious students.

Students are eligible to sit in placement drives from 6 semesters onwards. But mostly students get placed during their 7-8 semester. Various companies visit the campus such as Deloitte, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, and many more. During this year the highest package was 25 lacs at AWS. Meanwhile, the average package of the college lies from 4-5 lacs. If you are a good student then you will get placed easily. Almost 90% of the students get placed every year and the rest either opt for higher studies or have some other plans. My plan is to enter the field of Cyber Security after getting my Bachelor's degree.

The fee of this course varies each year but on average, it is nearly 110000(2020-2024). There is a 10% fee hike every year so now it costs nearly 150000. I belong to the General category and my father has a govt so I was not eligible for that & next year I will be sitting in the placement drive.

The College has an annual fest called Kolahal which is the main event of the college. It is of 3 days where they invite big personalities like singers & DJs to perform generally it is conducted in the month of November - December. The Library has got all the books we need for the course. Also, the books are provided by the Library free of cost. Each year there are sports events in which qualified students get an opportunity to represent them at the state level. The College has got a wide variety of groups i.e from Google developer Clubs to Entrepreneurship Cell.
