Remarks

For someone who had spent most of his life in hostels, IIBS gave a different meaning to studying with a lively campus & good hostel facilities. These two years would certainly be the most memorable in my student life.

Entrance Preview

I had appeared for MAT. My percentile was in the 80’s. With that score, there were some colleges I could have opted for. Still, I found IIBS more suited to my liking. Plus, few of my teachers too had recommended IIBS for my management education.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

We had a vast course curriculum, covering entire aspects of management. This helped us big way because we could learn from a single source. Beginning with basic subjects on management, we were introduced advanced concepts from third semester onwards. This planned syllabus helped us to progress smoothly towards wholesome learning.

Internships Opportunities

Indeed, internship happens every year at IIBS. One can find on its own or through college. IIBS itself has a bunch of companies offering internships to its students. The Even stipend is given in some cases. Stipend or no stipend, an internship is an important component in management education. I personally did an internship at Big Bazaar in Retail Sales. It was a wonderful learning experience.

Placement Experience

4

To my knowledge, around 80% of us got placed. There is no hype in this. Most of them were good companies. Salary offered varied according to one’s potential. The separate Placement Department at IIBS is certainly doing his best to see the talent is given ample opportunities through annual campus interviews.

College Events

4

College events happen on regular basis. We had the corporate event, which involved management events and games. Several other colleges too were invited to take part. SURFACE is the biggest event which held at the end of every academic year. In a way, these events opened up our talent reservoir.

Fee Structure And Facilities

One feels the fees here are a bit high. But then that is the trend overall in most of the B-Schools. The only good thing is that with placement scenario being good, there is every chance that your investment may soon be recovered. My overall expenditure came to around 8 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am not sure of the loan part as I did not avail any such loans. But there is enough support for meritorious students in terms of placement and recognition in the annual convocation. The institute, through its charity fund, honors rank students with accolades & certificate of appreciation.

Campus Life

4.5

The onus here is on academics. We also had time to explore extracurricular activities. Prime focus being academics, IIBS campus was always busy with one or the other academic drills like guest lecturing, symposium, management festival, etc. Despite this emphasis on academics, the campus life was enjoyable. There was a good mixture of male & female students. This is intentionally kept so as to make a good balance of gender.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The best part of my stay at IIBS is the hostel facilities and mess food. I am not making up anything. We had the best facilities one could hope for. I rarely felt the need for home food as the menu at IIBS was so good that it tasted homely.Despite this emphasis on academics, the campus life was enjoyable. There was a good mixture of male & female students. This is intentionally kept so as to make a good balance of gender.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni at IIBS are always helpful. They were most handy during internships, projects, and placements. The IIBS Alumni is pretty strong with a considerable size. Most of them are always active through alumni network. It is so easy to catch up with them for issues related to career & personality development.

Exam Structure

Like most of the B-Schools, ours too was semester scheme of examination. In two years, we had to take 4 semesters with a gap of 4 to 6 months. The first year was usually hectic, with a lot of subjects, presentations, and projects. After Internship, there were electives to choose from.

Admission

I got Selected through the IIBS GDPI Process and then aptitude test after that i got IIBS prospectus by courier. Send a demand draft of Rs. 550 in favor of International Institute of Business Studies, payable at Bangalore to Bangalore National Head Office address.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty at IIBS was simply best. Despite their academic credentials, they were easy to approach and supportive in matters of academic doubts. Along with it, we also had a bund of extraordinary guest lectures that made learning even more interesting. Because of their combined effort, we could become confident and successful in our career.
