Remarks

The college administration is fine. There are minor glitches but that is understandable because of the dynamic structure of the program. Overall they are student friendly and help students in all matters be it minor or a major one.

Entrance Preview

SNAP-94.23 percentile. With the advent of Make in India, India would need operations managers to optimize the processes and cost. Hence, to study and leverage the opportunity, I opted for SIOM

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good with case-based teaching methodology and a sharp focus on research. With the new and fresh faces in the operations department, research activity has been soaring high with an international conference organized in 2016 and students traveling the length and breadth of the country to present their research at various conferences like SOM, POMS, etc.

Internships Opportunities

Yes. The college provides for summer internships and almost all the companies which recruit for finals takes students for SIP as well. The actual figure may be obtained from placements department but the average would, in my guess, range from 15,000-25,000 per month

Placement Experience

4

The placement and job opportunities are in sync with market demand and the profiles are absolutely great and include consulting, logistics, transportation, product management, etc. Few companies which visit the campus are General Mills, Godrej and Boyce, Deloitte, Infosys, Accenture. The actual figure may be obtained from placements department but the average would, in my guess, range from 8,00,000-10,00,000 lacs per annum

College Events

4

The events celebrated are Drishti- annual cultural fest, ICOSCM which was an international conference on supply chain management, Research colloquium which invites scholars to present their research. Mostly colleges from Pune and Mumbai come to participate because of location constraints.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure compares to same class B schools is less and the return on Investment is also quite good if we look at the average placement figures. There are no hidden charges and everything is included in the course fee for induction module from Harvard, student dress, student bag, internet LAN wire, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college has a tie up with Bank of India which provides loans and processes the papers quite fast. Also, the topper of the batch during the first semester gets 25% off on his college tuition fee subjected to the maintenance of his GPA above a threshold value each semester.

Campus Life

4

The gender ratio is 1:6 and the diversity are huge both in terms of people coming from different places and also with a lot of different experience ranging from sales, maintenance, procurement, manufacturing services, IT services, finance and much more. This makes class discussions very healthy as you get to learn the other aspect. There are various clubs in the college who work independently under their faculty guide for a particular domain. E.g. Reseach club takes care of research related activities, paper presentations, and conferences. Sports committee organizes sports fest twice a year and once a year sends students to participate in the university sports fest. Students also travel to various B-schools which host competitions such as B plans, case studies, debates, etc.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel rooms are triple sharing which sometimes feel a lot. Twin sharing and single sharing provision are not available. There are few minor issues with the administration about drinking water and cleanliness but an active student body keeps up with this.

Alumni/Alumna

The college organizes a regular meetup with Alumni who visit the campus and give a formal talk. They are also available for an informal chat up sharing their knowledge, expertise, experience so far. The seniors are helpful and since the batch is limited to 250 students for both years, most people know each other. This further helps in seeking help from any of the seniors and also helping any of the juniors. We also have an alumni portal which is recently launched. many have joined and much more are joining. There is a job notification feature on this network where alumni keep posting about the jobs in their company.

Exam Structure

Exams and labs are hectic. But these are organized in a student-friendly way. The semester exams are taken consecutively without breaks and syllabus is humungous. The submissions, assignments, presentations, case studies get hectic once in a while otherwise it is pretty smooth.

Admission

One needs to register for SNAP and then SIOM. Based on the cut-off students are invited to the campus for Group Exercise, Written Assessment test, and Personal Interview. Everything happens in a single session. Every student is allocated a batch or a group for which there is a coordinator present who guides the aspirants for each and every process.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very interested and makes student participate in cases. Few faculty works very hard, especially from Economics, HR and finance department. Apart from regular faculty, visiting faculty comes with a lot of background and experience to share their insights.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

The companies like IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank, Property pistol, Godrej Capital are available for placements. The highest paid package is 9.75 for sales and marketing. Till now( 3rd semester) 60% to 70% students are placed. There are more opportunities for sales and marketing as compared to other fields.

Overall, I would say that I think this is a very unique course being offered by SP Jain and they are very strict with the submission timelines and quality of work. This is definitely is not a run off the mill part time MBA. The institute makes sure you sweat to earn your degree, respectfully!
