Remarks
The college is excellent given the amenities, fee structure and the placement history taken into consideration. The exam structure, distribution of marks and the faculty is also praise worthy. Internship oppurtunities was however limited and hence of the area the college needs to work on. Overall a quite satifying and memorable experience for the 2 years spent and making my money's worth.
Entrance Preview
I took Maharashtra CET entrance exam where I secured 88.75% percentile and applied via PDGM course. Reason for opting this college was its reputation which is currently in the top 10 colleges all over Mumbai, the faculty which has a mix of Teenage Professionals & Senior faculties and lastly the top companies which comes every year for campus placements.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was fantastic giving indepth knowledge and covering all subjects which is essential for a corporate world. It was a 2 year course where the first year had all the generic subjects covered and the final year had the specialisation subjects. We had almost 10-11 subject per semester and hence here you can give an extra tick as compared to other colleges
Internships Opportunities
The college provides internship oppurtunities which kickstarts in the Month of March. The internship is spead over 2 months from May to June and the stipend ranges from 10 to 20K depending on the level of companies. The experience gained here is little as the period is short but can lay the foundation for entering the corporate world. Also, Some companies had offered pre placement oppurtunities to a select number of students.
Placement Experience
The placements & job oppurtunies is far exceedingly well and is one of the reason for me to rate this college. There a fix number of top rated companies which are coming every year and also various number of colleges are added every year. To my surprise, some companies have a fixed order of recruitment and giving the priority to take the creamy students and hence MET is one of them.
College Events
The college is known for its phenomenal event widely celebrated known as UTSAV. It is a two day programme where the first day includes all the sport activities covering various games and the second day included all the events including singing, dance performances, plays and is accomodated with all the bollywood heroes including John Abraham, Chunky Pandey, Anil Kapoor, Sonu Nigam. Participation was quite huge and performing in front of 500 people was an absolute acheivement.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is compartively reasonable to other colleges. I had given 225000 per year and given the ambience, amenities and the facilities provided by the college, the money was quite worth and paid me huge dividends after 2 years in the form of camplus placements. Also the IES College opposite to MET charges fees of 275000 per year and makes the picture even more clear for college selection.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college offers a variety of scholarship oppurtunities to numerous students. Considering the fee structure, the college does provide loan oppurtunies and does have a tie up with the reputed banks.
Campus Life
The Gender Ratio is typically 60-40 male-female ratio given more number of males opting for masters course. However, female participation is always encouraged and welcomed by the college. The faculty as well the staff also has an equal male female ratio. The college has internal labs designated for students who frequently require and use. Also, a Xerox machine accomodated near the basement of the college thereby making the life of students more easier. Sports competions were frequently carried once a year.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel faclities was in turn one of the special area making this college slightly different from others. It has a recreational room nearby canteen where top quality carrom boards are displayed, 2 table tennis boards and 4 chess boards thereby making the queue lesser. Also it has attached lawn tennis court and a big ground for cricket and football thereby accomodating 40 to 50 players in any given day.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni is constantly engaged in bringing the top rated companies and recuiting the maximum students every year. Senior students were very helpful and their tips proved handy during the placements. Tips such as resume preparation, cracking the Group discussions, personal interviews and debating on the latest topics were also quite useful.
Exam Structure
The exam structure has a 60-40 pattern which was followed by most of the colleges. It had classified marks into internal as well as external. Internal marks was again subdivided into attendance, projects, case studies and presentations while the external 60 marks covered a written exam. Major time was donated in the preparion of presentations hence making it little hectic and we had left with little time for the written exams. Though Hectic but managable which is important in every ones career be it personal or professional.
Admission
I had applied for Post Graduate in Diploma Management (E-Business) course. However, the Admission process included 3 rounds where the first round had a basic apitirude test followed by Group Discussion & Personal Interviews scheduled on that dat itself. There was no elimination in any rounds and the total score was taken into consideration including your CET scorecard.
Faculty
The Faculty of the college was excellent which had a mix bunch of teenage as well as senior experinced professionals. Each subject had a presentation where the communication skills were tested which plays a pivotal role in an organisation. We also had various guest lectures and seminars where we were able to meet the CEO's, Directors and Senior Members of the worlds top rated companies.
