Entrance Exams: University Entrance for MBA, Scored: 86%. One of the prestigious MBA institutes in North Karnataka.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was good & up-to-date. Since we had some practising Managers who took some courses / classes- it was also a good thing, since they were stressing more on the practical aspects rather than purely the theoretical ones mentioned in the syllabus.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the students were supposed to do 2 Internships - 1 in first year MBA & the other in the 2nd year MBA. The institute through the Placement cell ensured that most of us got Internship in some good companies & this intern helped us to land decent jobs.
Placement Experience
Being in a place like Dharwar- far away from the Corporate world- this I must say was the only main disadvantage that we didnot have very good placements. Apparently, with a very active "Placement Cell" now, I understand that this has been rectified & lot of students do get placed before they complete their course.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The Fee structure was very reasonable. I remember that our entire MBA for 2 years cost us 35000 INR- including the cost of the books which were provided to us for both the years. However, as I hear from my juniors, the fees has slightly gone up & now is in the range of 1.5 Lakhs for the 2 years course- excluding the hostel & mess.
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni network was not very structures during our college days. We do have our annual Alumni meet called- "Darpan", which attracts lot of senior alumni. I had good luck that some of the senior Alumni supported me when I came to Bangalore in search of job. That was a great moral booster.
Exam Structure
We had tight schedules with "Surprise Tests" being a part of the fun- since this never gave an opportunity to lax. Apart from this we had the mid term & year end exams which were scheduled.
Admission
The university calls for the entrance in the month of Dec- Jan of the previous year. Based on the Entrance exam results, students were shortlisted & called for GD, followed by an Interview. Based on the performance in all the 3, the selection lists were announced.
