Course Curriculum Overview

5

MBBS is overall a tough course because we have to study a lot. After all we are going to become a doctor, so we can't excuse our patients that we don't know the particular disease. I personally choose the course as I had always liked biology and i want to directly serve our society and want to develop new treatment techniques. In RIMS, faculties are highly qualified and they are very helpful. They always try their best to make us understand the concepts. Besides highly qualified faculties, PG students are also available to help and teach us in RIMS. In every 3 months, we have our terminal examinations and to appear in final exam or university exam we have to pass atleast 2 terminals. Passing marks in MBBS is 50%.

In RIMS for MBBS course, we have to do 1year intership and intership is must in MBBS. In RIMS, intership stipend is more than other medical College of the state. It is around 23k whereas it is only 17k in other medical colleges of the state.

Hostel Facilities

5

Hostel facility in RIMS is great. We get single room from the very first year. And th hostel fee is only 3500 per year. In the room we get a bed with mattress, a study table, chair and a almirah. Here in RIMS, there are 8 boys hostel and 8 girls hostel and in every hostel we have a mess. So we get our meal in our hostel itself but if you want to change your mess you can do so. MBBS is all about learning and exploring . Only choose this profession when you have a will to help others otherwise it would be a difficult course for you. The passing marks of examination is 50 and for that you need to study hard.

Mbbs is a long duration course of about 5.5 years in which there is 1 year of compulsory internship.being a doctor is the noble profession and gives you huge respect and that's why i choose this course, this was me and my parents dream as well.this curriculum prepares you to face upcoming challenges that you have to face as a doctor.i think practical work should be more instead of just bookish knowledge.there is 3 terminals in a regular interval of 3 months and then final exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

-The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) program is a highly sought-after degree that prepares students for a career in medicine. A key aspect of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is its emphasis on integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application. The inclusion of subjects such as anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology provides a strong foundation for understanding the human body and its functions. Furthermore, the clinical rotations and internships allow students to interact directly with patients, giving invaluable hands-on experience. The curriculum is well-structured to equip students for real-world medical practice and further academic pursuits. Clinical postings in hospitals and exposure to different medical specialties enhance problem-solving and decision-making skills. The focus on research methodology also lays the groundwork for those interested in pursuing postgraduate studies or contributing to medical advancements. However, there are areas where the MBBS curriculum could improve. For instance, introducing more interactive teaching methods, such as case-based discussions and simulation labs, would better prepare students for complex clinical scenarios. Additionally, integrating modules on soft skills, such as communication and empathy, could enhance patient care. Exams are frequent, usually held at the end of each semester, with assessments ranging from theory papers to practical exams. While challenging, they are crucial for assessing a student’s knowledge and clinical aptitude. However, spreading out exams and providing more time for preparation could reduce stress and improve performance, ensuring a better learning experience overall. Cons are course length and also the difficulty level.
