Remarks

You can check the eligibility criteria and can submit your application form for admission on the official Website of SOA. Dates regarding everything get mentioned on this website. I don't know much about the offline admission process since my admission took place completely in online mode. I belong to the ST category. You can only avail benefits if and only if you have the residential certificate from Odisha. The admission process was way too fast which is good but more transparency of fees of various courses is needed. Because when I got there I got to know that hostel charges were Rs.80,000 and not Rs.50,000.

Course Curriculum Overview

Well, I was from a commerce background. I liked coding so much that I wanted to do something that is related to it. So I chose BCA. It's pretty hard for students from streams other than science to choose such courses because not many institutions offer this course. And the ones that do offer have criteria that we are not able to satisfy. Or those institutions are not reputed enough. So among all the options I had, I found SOA better. The faculties and students here are great. Exams are not tough.

You'll not get same package as someone with btech degree. But with passion and efforts. You can achieve what you're targeting for. I'm gonna do mca course after bca degree as bca degree is not enough for a good job.

Fees and Financial Aid

BCA course fee is Rs.1 lakh per year. And the hostel fee is Rs.80,000. Apart from all this, external expenses must be considered too. I don't know about scholarships and financial assistance. Though I think it's not worth taking financial assistance from this university.

Campus Life

I am still new to the university. So I'm still waiting for all fun and fests. The library has all the books you need for your course. Although most of the time, there's a shortage of important books. The library is not too big not too small. There are a lot of clubs in which you can easily become a member of.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel life here is good. I live in a room shared by three other students. It's not too stuffy and the people here are quite nice. About the meal, it's average in quality and taste. Good thing is that they provide meals all four times a day. They cook non-veg almost daily. Veg food is often made poorly. They serve chai in the morning and in the evening.

The best and detailed review

Placement Experience:

As Rourkela is a tier 3 city the placement opportunities are no as much as the tier 1 cities but the college still provides placements oppertunities with a decent amount of starting package of 4LPA.The college brings alot of companies for job and intership through it's long and good establishment in the city. The students becomes eligible for campus placement from 5th semester onwards as they have enough projects. Infosys, Capgemini,Dalmia,etc companies visited and highest package was 4.5 Lpa and average was 4lpa with 2 lpa as the lowest. Getting a MCA degree afterwards is most preferable for getting a better job.

Placement Experience:

From final year students are eligible for campus placement. 4 companies visited for campus placement. 60-70% students get placement. 5lakhs per annum is highest and 4lakhs per annum is average package. Companies like Deloitte accenture has come in our campus. I would do a job as well as pursue MCA.

My positive experience with the college community and environment

Placement Experience:

Placement from our collage is good. Maximum student get placed by a good package. From 5th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Many companies like vipro,etc. visited and offered high salary to students. Highest package of our collage is 28 LPA and average package is 6.5 lakh. About 90% student gets placed after completing their courses. After getting the degree I will go for MCA

I had also applied for Chandigarh University in Mohali for a BE degreen in CSE(AI and ML). I got admission there based on their online test CUCET. But I had to choose my college over CU because upon going there i realised that the university was far from the main city and also the environment inside the college is more shifted towards fun and parties which didn't align with my personal life. My first impression of the college I chose

I applied in vit chennai , lpu , kiit , and vit bhopal . I got confirmed admission from all the colleges but i chose this college as it was in my hometown and the rating and education background of the college was impressible.
