Remarks

I had given my NEET exam in 2018 in which I got 445 marks with the all India rank of 47465. The application process was so easy. You just have to go to the NEET site recognized by the government of India and fill out the form for the counseling after the results are out. After the completion of the form call all the students who applied for the undergraduate seats for a document verification process. The document verification process is held at a regional level as my verification process was in Nagpur. After the verification is done, The merit list of the approved students is provided at the site. The first selection list is followed after that. There are a total of 3 selections list given by the organization and 1 mop-up round in which students are selected for the remaining vacant seats after all the selection lists are out. The fees for general category students is around 1 lakh rupees per annum in government colleges and for sc, st students the fees are given by scholarship.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

It was a dream to get MBBS in a government college. For a middle-class student is hard to get admission to private colleges as the fee structure of the private college is more than government college. Rajiv Gandhi medical college is situated in Galway, Thane. The college is established in the year 1992 so it's been 30 years. The faculty of the college is very supportive. Lectures are held on time. The infrastructure of the building is good. The patient load in the hospital is huge. People from around the thane, Kalyan, and beyond come to the hospital for a checkup. The college has Good classrooms for students plus there is a central library which is open 24 hours for students. There is a total of 9 semesters in MBBS, the college organized the terminal exam and preliminary exam while the final exam is organized by the university. The exam is tough and you have to study throughout the year to pass the exam. The college also organized an annual fest for the student.

Internships Opportunities

5

The internship started just after the students pass their final year MBBS exam. As the internship start the students were offered pay off some of rupees 11000 per month. In internships, students have to work in every department according to the timetable set by the college. As the patient load in the hospital is more, students get in contact with patients regularly. They learn and acquire skills in regular time. As the number of students is less and the patient load is more, a single student gets exposed to many patients, and that is a very good thing because it helps the student to share his or her skills more.

Placement Experience

5

Talking about the job and placements you'll never find a doctor not earning. Medicine is a noble profession but for survival, doctors have to earn money. In internship itself students start earning and as time passes they get paid more and more. In an internship, they are offered to pay 11000 rupees per month and after the completion of the internship, they are offered around a lakh rupees per month.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees in the government colleges are very less compared to the private colleges. The course fee for the general and obc students is around 1 lakh per annum and for sc and st students the fees are nil as the whole fees are provided by the scholarship given by the government of India. The government of India scholarship scheme is beneficial for the students. Students have to fill out the scholarship form on mahadbt.org every year to avail this benefit. The hostel fees for the year are around 4 thousand rupees. An internship after passing the final year of MBBS, students also received a stipend of rupees 11000 per month for 1 year. After the internship, all the students have to complete 1 year of government bond by working in the rural hospital in which they get paid around 1 lakh rupees depending on the locality.

Campus Life

4.5

Like any other college, the life on the campus is very good. Our college is 30 years old but the infrastructure is still very good. The college has an AC classroom and a central library for the students which is open for 24 hours for students. Different clubs can be seen at college. The student council and college organized regular events to encourage students to take part in various extracurricular activities like poetry, debate, painting, etc. The college also organized the annual function every year which last for around a month in which various events takes place. Many other colleges also take part in the events. The student's council runs various pages around social media to provide students information regarding various events which is going to take place in the college. The college also has its recognized website on the internet under the Thane Mahanagar cooperation.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostel is provided by the college for all the students. After admission to the college, students have the option to stay at the hostel or anywhere outside. The hostel fee is 4000 rupees per annum. The rooms are good and spacious. Every day room gets clean by workers. Every college has its mess or canteen for students. They charge the students as per their regulations. The food is good and hygiene. There is some 24 hours canteen which provides students food for all the 24 hours. Many students don't stay at the hostel and live in a rented apartment or pg. The locality is very friendly and students easily find a good and affordable place to stay.

Interview Experience

4

For admission to the MBBS or any other medical courses, you have to go through a national exam called NEET which is the national eligibility cum entrance test. The exam is held offline around the various center in the country generally in May. The eligibility criteria for the exam is that the student should have passed the hsc examination. Any student who has passed the 12th class examination can apply for NEET. After NEET, the results are out within a month, and the admission process gets to start based on your neet result. The college is allotted based on the exam result. There is no interview round or anything, only a single examination NEET.

Course Curriculum Overview:

MBBS is definately a tough course. along with being tough, it also puts some responsibilities on your shoulders as you will be treating real people with real problems in the real world as you complete this course. while studying, students should focus more on 'why' and 'how' type questions than 'what' type of questions. the major exams are conducted in 9 semesters . each semester is of 6 months + 1 year of compulsary internship.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The current curriculum is comprehensive based curriculum. Here practical knowledge is more important than bookish knowledge. So now spending more time in wards is of greater importance. Exams are held accordingly - 2 internals, 1 prilims and 1 University held by MUHS. Each exam is followed by practical examination. This curriculum will help to build good doctors rather than bookish doctors.
