Remarks
Polytechnic colleges provide diploma courses. These are the technical courses provided by the government to pursue technical knowledge in various fields. In UP, the JEECUP examination is held in basically April and its application form starts to get filled in almost Feb-Mar. Anyone can find this form easily at the website of JEECUP. The application fee is different for all the categories like for general/obc fees is 350 and for sc/st fees is 250 somewhat. The minimum eligibility of the diploma course is 10th class. Many reservations are also given to many students like for OBC or SC/ST, since I was of the GEN category I didn't get any reservation benefits. I personally liked all the admission processes so don't want any improvements.
Course Curriculum Overview
I completed a diploma in Computer Science and Engineering with 83.6% and was the topper of the class. This is a 3-year diploma course. I chose this course as I am interested in the computer science world and in programming. I would like to give the faculty of this college full marks because the teachers always gave their best to teach us. They always wanted to give us the best of their knowledge. There are many educated Teachers in the college, most of them are post graduated and also have doctorate degrees. Faculty: student ratio is very good since the teachers do not scold like in the schools, they share a very friendly nature with students. In 3 years we have 6 semesters so Exams are held every 5-6 months and honestly the difficulty of the main exams is average, but the marking system is very hard. The board hardly gives a maximum of 40 marks from 50 (very rarely). So, always study hard.
Placement Experience
After 6th-semester students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies like Infosys, Softpro, VVDN technologies, etc visit our campus. But diploma students don't get offered more than 2 lakh because diploma is the minimum knowlegde of technical education. Almost all the students who want placements get placed in these companies by giving interviews. I didn't want to do the job after doing my diploma so I am currently pursuing a Btech degree from Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar.
Fees and Financial Aid
In UP govt colleges, the fee of this diploma course is Rs.11010 per year which I think is affordable to most of us. There are 2 types of scholarship which are provided by the UP Govt - 1- This scholarship is given to all the students of the college (except the children of govt employees). In this scholarship all the fees of a year (i.e, 11010) come back to the student's bank account with some extra money also like sometimes 2000-3000 more. 2- The second scholarship is SAKSHAM BALIKA YOJANA. This scholarship is provided to only those 3 students who are the top performers of their respective classes and years. In this scholarship Rs.10000 is given to the particular student for his/her hard work and good marks.
Campus Life
One convocation program in which diploma degrees are provided to the passed out students and projects fest is also conducted in the program. Here top 3 performers of projects, dancing, singing get awarded medals and trophies. Also, at the last of the year (December) Sports meet gets conducted in which many sports are there in which students can participate and win prizes. Then the top 3 performers of each sport go for another sport meet in other colleges in which top students of all the districts come and participate.
