Remarks

I opted for an Integrated 5 year B.A LLB Degree Course. The eligibility is that those who are applying must have 45% marks in Higher Secondary Examination. The application can be done online. Reservation Benefits are available you don't need to pay for university examinations if you have a reservation.

Course Curriculum Overview

1

I chose this course because I am passionate about the legal profession. In addition, the course is 5 years long, with dual degrees awarded upon completion. The program is excellent, but the college faculty is appalling. Some people are natural teachers, while others come to obtain experience in their chosen industry. It's also a problem because new professors come and go frequently during each semester, which is a horrible practice because it disrupts the continuity of the classes and makes it impossible for the professors to assess the pupils. Although the facilities are qualified, none of the staff members are qualified to teach or explain subjects to students. Some are seasoned professors who can provide the most up-to-date information, while others are below standard. Exams are not difficult if you follow the syllabus you can pass. You'll also have to write more on the answer paper, which will be difficult to do in the time allotted. The faculty-to-student ratio is unfavorable.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, the government offers numerous scholarships, and we can simply obtain education loans from banks. I don't get a job from campus. I was awarded a Central Government National Scholarship for Backward Classes and got a bank loan for my studies. The fee hike is made yearly for each year admissions the fees are hiked as per the management and government meetings.

Campus Life

0.5

There are no good fests conducted for the students, there is only one college day conducted yearly but it is not up to the mark. No other fests or programs are conducted. They don't encourage your abilities in arts, sports, etc. The library is not big but you get standard books and journals. There are no special amenities available in the college except fans and lights. No extracurricular activities are encouraged by the college authorities. There is National Service Scheme available at the college and no other clubs or websites are run for students. The campus life is hell as the college is situated in a remote area and no good shops or restaurants are available in the surrounding area of the college.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

There is no hostel facility available for boys. Only a small ladies' hostel is provided by the college. The Boys need to rent accommodation outside the college, which is very expensive and no food with accommodation facilities are available. We get average rooms for rent near the college. The food has to be eaten from hotels or otherwise, you need to cook. Rooms are affordable for people.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The moot court competitions and debate competitions are conducted many times in a year which are very useful for a law student.I wish if there are more interested college competitions then it would be more useful.Usually there is a gap of six months between two exams and during that period students get enough time for preperation.

Placement Experience:

The college does have a placement program. It's mainly to companies which have a law department. I don't specifically know the companies but I've heard it offers great exposure. The companies include Technopark companies, UST etc. The package starts from 20000 per month and maybe above according to our profile. My personal loan after the couse is to practice law as an advocate and then go for the judgeship programe.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the curriculum 3.5 out of 5 . The major con is that the curriculum in Government law College Thiruvananthapuram is solely made for litigation in the court . There is less scope for corporate level studies. Curriculum is up to date and I personally think that several other act should be added for real world application like insurance law , narcotics abkari act are not included. Exams are usually on time comparing to other universities in Kerala still it's not conducted nearly after the semester ends
