Remarks

Presidency College is a famous name in the education system of the Chennai area and that's why I opted for this institution. It is accredited by NAAC group and functions under the affiliation of Madras University. AICTE agency has approved this college and in The Week 2019 rankings this college was 24th for Arts. For admissions, the college does Merit based selection.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I've done my 10+2 with Maths being a major subject and my will to have a teaching career in the field was the reason I chose to do a B.Sc in Mathematics. The course covers all major curriculum aspects of the Subject and students are given more than satisfactory teaching by the faculty at Presidency College. I also used to participate in the quiz competitions of our college and even secured a position in one of those events.

Internships Opportunities

4

No, I haven't opted for any such round. Because I thought I can use my time in a much better way that this because the opportunities of internship for B.Sc courses aren't that great in this college. Thus , I decided to not participate in the round.

Placement Experience

4

This is the only thing which you might get dissatisfied about. However, I knew at the start that the placement scenario was not that great and that's why I had planned to join a Master's programme. This is the reason I didn't expect much rather than a good Educational exposure from this college and I certainly got that from this college. Some recruiters that I've heard about in the college were KPMG, TCS, Infosys,EY and Delloite.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is highly favorable for students who can't really afford high charges and this is one major reason I chose Presidency College. The total fee was INR 3,800 for the 3-year course and students belonging to Meritorious level can apply for Scholarships from State/Central Government.

Campus Life

4

This college is very old and that's why the infrastructure of the college is pretty antic but timely renovations have made it a fit for the technology driven world. There are all basic facilities for students convenience, such as Sport's, Library hall and Clubs like NCC for Army aspirants and NSS for those interested in social work activities. We also got to enjoy the Freshers-farewell party and Psycho fest which were both really memorable. The institute also used to conduct education related activities.

Hostel Facilities

4

Presidency college has 2 hostels each for both genders and students who belong to Outstations can apply for the facility. If students want to reside in PG they can easily find one near the college campus. Most of the local students prefer to do their studies in a Day scholar mode and Even I was among those students. The overall facility with this college has been great and I feel really special that I've done my B.Sc from this college.

Admission

Admission is based upon the Merit Scored by the applied candidates in the qualifying exam. The college doesn't organise any test or Interaction round for admissions. Thus, Students must note that it is important to have a good score in XII for admissions.

Placement Experience:

top tech companies will come to our campus for replacement some of them are Amazon, JP Morgan, TCS, cognizant according to our skill level, they will choose before applying for any company. And the average placement they offer is 7-10 LPA. You should pass some exams in our college, which is held by our placement cell, so those are pretty much annoying nearly 10 exams they will put just for applying for each company.

The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.
